Haha ya we actually got a lot of the metal done for it and it was worse then we thought it was rusted back into the floor and it was all paper thin so we decided to scrap it and hes going to find another shell that ill fix for him because with that one theres no way he would have it back for summer

haha not enough, I cant seem to get this thing running right at all, trying to find a good basemap for the s300 that will get it to idle better, then I can get it ready to go tune!

Re: 95 sol ground up project!
well not really any updates on my del sol build as of now, but I do have a few updates on what i have been up to. The del sol runs, I still have to get an alignment and save up for tuning, but all the money I had went to some other things.
Thats del sol sound 3! Gotta finish it up this winter
also put this together 03 yamaha r6 gotta paint the tank black and I converted it back to a street bike from a race bike
I also bought the car my dad sold 20 years ago, this is my exact dream car! Im going to be restoring it after awhile which is what put the del sol on major hold. My dad passed away 7 years ago, and I have been looking for this car for the last 5 years and finally found it and was able to buy it!

Re: 95 sol ground up project!
ya I do that a lot, buy cars and fix them up and sell them, but I always try and do something to make it stand out Motor swapping is easy but if you can build a shell that runs and drives thats really nice for someone else to swap it really saves them a lot of money in the long run too

Re: 95 sol ground up project!
Well I got the white del sol primed yesterday, I also brought my car up to MAP, in Minneapolis, they were not able to get it going due to some interference issues that Im going to have to figure out. It has 275psi on compression test all across, it had two vacuum leaks that needed fixed, also got the alignment done, they were not able to figure out the problem with getting it connected to the laptop to do a break in and dyno, they are thinking it might be something with the hondata cpr setup or the s300. I have tested the s300 in another car and it works flawless, Im going to do some digging and see if there are any ground loops or 12v intereference problems with the starter and alternator wiring being to close to the ecu

Re: 95 sol ground up project!
I have always liked the del sol, that's why I bought one. like the color, like the rims and carbon fiber roof.. and the carbon fiber accent in the interior.. im digging the cleanliness of the build.. epic fail with the eg front end swap. srry maybe an ek or s2k front end swap.. or how about originality an do an crz front end swap.... props on the build tho, always nice to see a clean not riced out sol build

Re: 95 sol ground up project!
ya Im gonna pick the car up monday, then get to work, ill probably end up taking it to db next time though, and ptysol, i think your talking about the black del sol I built awhile ago, i loved the eg front on it, it fit the car very well, I saw other pictures of del sols with different front and didnt care for them, to each his own I suppose, but thanks for the comments, the two im working on now, is a white one that will have a 97 front and carbon hood(which is to sell) and my blue one which Im getting done that I will be keeping

Re: 95 sol ground up project!
nice, nice.. I apologize if I offended you Stevenson 18... what exactly involves the front end swap? how hard is it? I have been a body shop worker for 6 years now, painting cars, dent removal and even frame straightening, but never swaps... any input would be cool..

no not offended at all, not everyone is gonna like everything i do haha, I just do it because I like it, its not to bad to do, just remove the radiator support and cut one off a civic, weld it on the del sol, mount everything it and make sure it fits right, cut both sets of fenders in half and weld them together and fit the headlights and align the body lines, customize the hood hinges and fit everything before actually welding it all solid, I had to modify the wheel well liners a little too i think

Re: 95 sol ground up project!
damn, doesn't seem to hard to do.. but my 2 cents in it would be... we have been using a lot of fiberglass in our shop lately bcz of all the fiberglassed bodied cars.... wouldn't it be easier to use fiberglass fenders instead of metal and cut and fiberglass them together??

Re: 95 sol ground up project!
I would say no for two reasons: 1 youd have to buy two sets of fiberglass fenders and usually dont fit that well to begin with and 2. I prefer metal because it doesnt crack or spider like glass its easier to shape and i think welding then grinding it down is a lot faster and the factory fenders fit perfect

Re: 95 sol ground up project!
tht makes total sense.... I hve a pair of fiberglass fenders on my del sol.. and I cant get the gaps right.. and if u look closely theres a lot of webbing in them... got a pair of factory fenders tht u want to get rid of?
