Does vtec come on? My old B16 wouldn't redline higher than like 6900 or somewhere around there if it didn't hit vtec. It wasn't engaging because my speedometer cable kept popping out of the cluster.

check your throttle cable, re-adjust it and see if it makes a difference, what do you feel when the car doesn't rev anymore?? is it like a rev limiter or it feels like it just won't go up higher?? anyway check your throttle cable and make adjustments and see if it makes a difference.

Default poping fuses and speedometer not working...

Hey bro I had the same problem and This is how I fixed it. 1st my speedometer would not work and this does not let my Vtec kick in and I could not go past 6.5K or 7K rpm. (also my lights were dim) My problem was my Vtec wires were wired wrong to my jumper/ECU by someone else, not me. This caused my fuse to blow on the Alternator/Speed Sensor under dash fuse panel (I believe it is the 3 or 4 fuse in the middle row from left to right; it is rated @ 7.5 amps). My engine wire hardness had a short (my short was located under the intake manifold close to firewall) were the engine wire hardness has two terminals that cancel. I peeled off the tape and checked for any burnt wires or burnt tape. I found a lot. To rule out any burnt wires on your engine wire hardness like mine; take off the ground cable located close to the top of the thermostat (there should be one black and two brown wires all together in one piece; peel the tape for visability). [The brown wires have a black line that run with them and the black one have a silver/grey dot running through it] Disconect the ground using the 10mm socket or so. When you do this turn your key on to the ignition, your new fuse should not pop any more; now remember your car will not turn on because the ECU is not grounded, but you found your problem. You have a short, to prove it get a light tester and check the black and brown wires UNGROUNDED; I clipped them individually and tested each one. I bought a new Engine wire hardness and rewired it myself and it worked out great because the Vtec wires were now in the correct location. have. Check all your fuses, look for any melted pastics that go to engine wire hardness, look at your clips make sure thier connected and open them up to see if there causing the short, and finally check your ECU and smell it it to see if it does not smell burnt. Good luck and keep me posted Bro...
