Default 93 eg sedan - Steering issues after accident

Alright, I got hit a couple weeks back in the front passenger side, it's all cosmetic. I FINALLY get my car back and it's got a wicked pull in the steering, but only when I am coasting(foot of the gas) and when I am accelerating its fine. I take it too a different guy and he says that my steering gear is loose and needs to be replaced which is gonna run me 1400 bucks. So I call a friend of mine to look at it, he finds that the alignment is off, my lower control arm is bent, and there is a little play in the steering gear. So he takes care of all that, only 76 bucks. He also mentions I need a new camber kit, something in the factory camber kit is broken. He also said that my power steering gear does have some play in it but, but that happens after time. <---- 1, is that true? And 2 if I was to get the new camber kit would that solve the pulling to the side issue? He said he can do the camber kit, new power steering rack, and alignment for like 400 bucks... What do you guys think, if you need to know anything else let me know, and any input would be great. Thanks in advance fellas.

You must mention the car you have in tech forums.

Take your friend's offer, if you trust him.

Play in the steering is more due to the tie rods and tie rod ball joints that connect to the knuckles. I am not sure about the actual rack and pinion gear getting play over time.

$400 from your friend seems like a deal. I am currently having the power steering rack changed out at a ASE certified shop on my 2000 Civic SI and it's going to run me about $440 ish plus tax, alignment included (front end only). But, I supplied a used rack off of another Civic. If I asked the shop to install a new re-manufactured rack, the price would go up to $7-800.

you should take his advice because from what you've said it would seems as something is bent, plus most of the parts you mentioned can easily be found at a junk yard so you don't have to spend a fortune to replace everything, my friend had almost the identical accident (passenger front) on his DA but he broke his lower control arm so just to be safe he replaced everything

Is the car lowered? Why did he suggest a camber kit?

Is that parts+ labor?

i would assume he suggested the camber kit, because the factory one may be bent.

Just pick up Moog or OEM upper control arms in that case.

Car is not lowered, and the 400 is out the door.

Camber kits are a waste. Buy replacement upper control arms. Moog is the only aftermarket one worth a ****.

EG's don't come with camber kit/adjust-ability OEM. You only buy them if the car is lowered, which it is not, so I don't understand why you need a camber kit?
