93 Civic Ex got cheap need to UNRICE HELP!!!
This car has a body kit on it since the pics I debaged the "white" Honda emblems, took the mesh out in a desperate attempt to unrice it. THe supension is toast. My question is with the maxspeed coilovers that came with car cranked up all the way the car looks higher than its supposed to be. In other words if I park next to a stock civic the wheel gap is insane. I can fit the whole hand and then some in the wheel gap. I am unsure how low a stock civic with a mild bodykit appears to be. I hate the bodykit but Im not going to take it off because the car is a beater.
If i got oem springs I wonder how "low" it would be. I need a spring/strut combo that will give the car a normal stance not a 4x4 look and not bottom out.
I dont have a stock supension so I have no baseline. In my eyes the maxspeeds are far worse han stock.
I hear that the tokico springs, advertised at 1.5 dont drop your car at all or very little. Ive searched and searched and everyone has thier opinions and I feel as though I am a exception to my inherited rice. What do you reccomend for backroad city and highway driving?
also the car has 14" integra gsr rims on with 195 60 14 tires on it..Is this even stock size??
HELP!!

well the common anwer you find here on the board is search...
but for more information look in the suspension forum at honda-tech.com
but if you want the most simple setup that will work for any daily driver, that wont break your wallet but still get good quality characteristicis, like ride quality and handling..
I think:
Tein H.tech (est. price is $170 US)
&
KYB GR2 shocks (higher quality then Tokico Blues)
total drop is: 1.3 front and 1.1 rear
simple setup that is not too low yet as you said give your beater civic a stock look.
and 195/60/14 is an aftermarket tire size but a popular upgrade for those with 14 inch rims

You have pictures of everything, except what you are talking about...?
Anyway, if they are straight springs insted of progressive rate springs, you could have them cut i suppose? But going with Tein S-Tech dress-up master springs (I think that's the lowest they offer are?) and tokico shocks should solve your problem.

I did search but most people have a stock baseline and I donot. I have seen many stock before and after pics but none really have any type of bodykit and those 14" rims. Thank you for you fast input it is much appreciated!

Re: (Spinnbait)
aw that aint riced, ive seen a LOT worse.
for now, spraypaint the front mesh black, then itll look a bit better. put an OEM e-brake on it, find you a 94 Si gauge cluster so you get a tach (dont get the stupid JDM one people will tell you cause then itll be in KPH.)
Also, just paint the intake pipe, but no one looks at the engine bay

the valve cover has about 7 coats of paint on it. I will try my best to stip it down. Either a oem airbox or a ebay knockoff true cai in a more nuetral color. Yah the ebrake handle is gross. and the shitknob was purple neon I threw it out on the way home from purchasing the car and drove with just the stick portion

Re: (Autry024)
ya that car is not so ricey, just be glad they didnt paint all the trim on the inside a different color. the maxspeeds all the way up is not stock height, its higher than stock. stock should probably be about 2 maybe 2.5 inches above the stock tire size 185/60/14. If u dont have stock tires on that, then i dunno what else to say, but i guess adjust it accordingly to visual likability

Re: (rukawa1one)
man what are you talking about that thing is hotness. Just like the racecars! Anyway, just go to a junkyard and get the bumpers for it. SHouldnt be expensive, but i doubt u'll find any purple ones like your car is because i rarely see that car in that color. Just find youself a donor car in a junkyard and swap out the parts you dont like on your rice burner. Peace.
