'92 DX: starts then dies; dies while driving
I know this topic has been covered many times in the past, but my quick search did not yield results with my exact symptoms.
I have a '92 Civic DX with 262,xxx miles. The little car runs great, gets good fuel mileage. When I first purchased it a little over a year ago it occasionally would die immediately after starting. I did some research and found that the main relay may have been the culprit, so I replaced it - problem gone.
Now almost a year later, the issue has returned (worse than before). At random times (hot, cold, makes no difference) it will dies immediately after starting. Sometimes I have to try two or three times until it will stay running. It doesn't bog, shutter, anything of than nature - just dies as soon as the engine tries to start.
Also, on three occasions the engine has died while driving. It always happens when the RPMs drop (clutch depressed, as when shifting gears or slowing to a stop). Again, it does not bog or anything of that nature. In fact, it dies so smoothly that I don't even notice until I try to accelerate again.
I've replaced the main relay, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor and run a couple cans of Seafoam through the fuel tank. There is no Check Engine Light, or any other warning lights for that matter.
I just got an income after many months of being laid up in bed from a motorcycle wreck so I'd like to get on the ball and solve this issue, but I don't know where I should start looking. I'd very much appreciate ideas and suggestions!
Regards,
Evan
Edit: Forgot to mention, car is 100% stock.

Re: '92 DX: starts then dies; dies while driving
Last night after work it took 6 or 7 tries until the engine finally started. That's the longest its taken; I'm getting worried.

sounds like ur fuel pump mite be taken a dump on ya at random. you`ve changed everything else out, pump relay or pump itself.
