Default 92 civic cx hatch help ! (wont crank!)

Hey guys whats up. I just got this 92 cx hatch a few weeks back and I just put my b20 in it. I have a 95 si hatch wire harness on the motor and the after swaping the motor in, hooking all the plug/ lines up I go to start it and when I turn the key over it does absoluetly nothing, not even a click from the starter. The dash lights do not dim whien trying to start either. I hear the fuel pump priming and the main relay clicks. The ecu light on the cluster comes on for the two seconds then goes off like normal. Although I do here a slight click coming from the engine bay fuse box area when I go to turn the key to start the car then turn the key to the off position. All my lights work.. dash lights, blinkers, headlights, brakes, high beams etc..

The battery is oem honda that I bought like three weeks back and when I had this swap in my coupe about a week and a half ago, the starter, battery and alt all worked just fine. All the fuses in the engine bay are good and same with inside the car from what I remember.

Im not too sure what the heck is going on because ive never come across this problem with any previous car or previous swaps ive done in the past. So if you guys might have an idea please help me figure this out.

sorry for the novel but I thought Id be as descriptive as I could.

Thank you for viewing, Billy

thermo grounds

and the battery to the chassis

Do you have voltage at the key switch when you turn it to start position?

Check the rubber stopper that presses on the starter switch at the top of the clutch pedal. It may have fallen out.

The clutch pedal can have 2 switches - upper and lower. The lower one is the cruise control switch and the upper one is the starter switch. Did you put a rubber stopper in the upper one? Is the switch properly adjusted to press on the rubber stopper?

yeah i had no idea the pedals could have two switches. But yes i found my last new rubber plug and reached up and popped it in. And it seems to be functioning correctly. Ive started it numerous time already.

where you buy those stopper at? crxguy_88.. I too would like to know how to check the ignition switch. not trying to steal your post, but i too have a 95 civic cx all stock with starting problem and I'm starting to think it's my ignition switch. I have a voltmeter too. when i turn the ignition switch to the on/II position, the CEL comes on, and there's a lag before i hear both the main relay and fuel pump go off. If i don't wait for both of them to go off, and i crank the car , it just tries to start then nothing even after cranking it continuously. then if i wait for a while and check it again, if i turn the ignition to on/II and wait to hear the relay and the pump go off, then it starts every time i crank it after that happens. could it be the switch? or the relay?

You get the plugs at your local honda dealer parts department. I work at my Honda dealership in the parts. They are like 2$ each. But your issue sounds electrical to me. Might be best if you start your own thread. Good luck to you.

go ahead and lock this one up mods!
