3 point strut bar? Ebay vs Password JDM
ok i was looking on ebay for 3 point strut bars and I found some no brand ones that are made out of 6061 alumminum, which is the same thing the password jdm one are made of. I was wanting to know if they would work the same. Cuz the no band ones are $60 shipped and the password one is like $210 shipped. So what do you guys think?
here are the links to the items on ebay:

You get what you pay for. The ebay one doesn't look too bad but I often hear of parts not fitting properly due to high mass production. Password manufacturers nice products and would help you in the event of something not fitting properly etc. I would go with the password one..

i got that same thing a few days ago. It fits fine, the welds look pretty good, not the sexiest but sturdy and no defects. i got the polished one and there are some defects in the surface. It looks like they banged into it in a few places with the buffer shaft and scratched it up.
The P.W.JDM/Carbing one is way sexier but i can't justify paying that much for a strut tower brace. That NRG one looks just the same as the ebay one except for the name plate. Most of their stuff is made in china anyway so i'd bet is is from the same manufacturer just with their nameplate

I would suggest looking around where you live at. So you wont deal with the shipping

Re: 3 point strut bar? Ebay vs Password JDM
Password has good quality protucts for the most part. My front and rear strut bars on my coupe fit great when I had them, The are a little spendy as you are just paying for the name. But as everyone said strut bars do very little they are mostly for blig you would do your self better by upgrading your sway bar or getting a better suspension

This may be a dumb question but has anybody ever taken the concept to a machinist or fabricator and asked him to make one? I don't know how much custom fab work costs but it seems like if you gave em like 100 bucks they could whip up something of great quality and it'd be an easy 100 dollars for em. It's only a couple cuts couple welds and a couple holes...then you could do unlimited finishes and have it look exactly the way you want...or keep it simple and throw some wrinkle paint on it...it's hard to screw that up.

I have, from experience it cost about the same if not more. fab work is not cheap time is money and they will usualy charge you for X many hours unless you agree on a set price to start with. Like the Honda-Tech user ESP for example his traction bars and strut bars are hand made in his own shop here in olympia, Not mas produced like alot of other stuff but he still charges the same if not more because he spent his time on it and its a quality product.

I actaully talked to a shop, and they charge $95 an hour for fab work and You still need the material to make it.

I'd like to point out that Password:JDM's bar has internal reinforcement that other bars probably lack, particularly the flat bar kind.
Picture from their website:
Re. the effectiveness of bars/braces, I did notice an incremental improvement in steering response when I added my Neuspeed front strut bar to my Prelude (already had sport springs, dampers and sway bars) and a noticeable improvement in at-the-limit cornering stability when I added DC Sports rear upper and lower strut bars. I plan to get the Password pkg for my Integra, for that nth degree.
