Default 2000 EX pulling hard to left after winter wheels installed

Hey All:

So, I've got a 2000 Civic EX with 153K, all stock. Had finally milked every bit of tread from a set of Michelin Destiny 185/65 R 14, the stock size. Had a set of like new winter wheels and tires installed last week that I picked up on CL for a song, and now the thing pulls to the left like crazy, even moreso under hard acceleration. Had it aligned the next week, nothin. Just had discount rebalance the tires today and it got even worse. Before it was just pulling left at highway speeds, now it's got a definite harmonic/vibration.

"New" tires are Michelin X Ice 185/65 R14, and have nearly new tread, but they are mounted on discounts universal "steelies" so they don't have the same lugnuts as my OEM civic rims.

The drives were worn on the inner edge more than the rest of the tires for what it's worth. Next option is remount them on the Honda steelies, but I really wanted to keep them as winter wheels, and get some new wheels/tires for the spring/summer.

Any advice greatly appreciated,

Thanks!

Swap the front tires. If the pull changes to the right then you have a bad tire.

I don't know if I mentioned the tires are directional. The shop rotated the fronts to the rear which did help quite a bit. I still think that right front is bad. It's now on the RR. Would that still cause a slight pull to the opposite side?

Make sure that all the wheels are the same size and offset.

So what your saying is that the rim those tires are mounted on are all different correct?

Shop rotated the them from front to back and its a little better than before?

Did the shop to an alignment when these rims/tires were installed?

Got the car an alignment after I had them installed and it started pulling. Alignment was barely out and didn't do anything to help with the pulling to left. I bought the tires and rims already mounted as a winter set from a guy on Craigslist. They are not OEM Honda steelies, but the universals that fit 4 X 100.

Rotating them front to back helped some and alleviated the high speed shimmy, so I still think one of the tires is bad.

You mean high speed vibrations?

Ok so were going from pulling to the left to a high speed "shimmy"

So pick one.

Better yet, just get 4 new tires since you just got an alignment.

Tires.com will probably have a xmas special
