cuz you asked why he cant leave it alone, and he clearly said he wants more power.. you made it sound like messing with a motor is a sin when clearly you have.. not callin ya out or tryin to start an argument, just sayin.. nothing wrong with a nice 270 hp n/a si imo

i was just a little annoyed, nothing wrong with that kind of power but he never really did say how much power he was wanting to make, so that's why i suggested, perhaps bolt ons and a tune and that would be enough for a daily in the city

He stated in his first post how much he was looking for.

The supercharger does lose some power but its not really noticable I'm not sure if 20% but it lose's some of the power it makes because it takes power to turn the pulley.

yeah i dont think itd be that big a difference. it kinda confuses me why if anyone mentions supercharging a honda everyone goes "GOD NO!" i mean if the difference really is that big then ok, but i doubt it is.

I know were your heading but I think superchargers are more correct for larger engines, and turbo's are all around kind of thing. I have seen a few supercharged honda's there fine but would rather go turbo in my opinion but you dont have to agree.

i dont really have any preference for superchargers. they're cool and all, but i was just curious why i dont see many supercharged hondas. the v-8 world is the exact opposite. superchargers everywhere and turbos are rare.

I never said you couldnt build a reliable motor, just said let it be and it is already reliable. If he does do stuff I would suggest to go NA but thats what I think.

low milage em1's are rare yes, but he's using it as his dd so he can't really just put his car in the garage and stare at it's milage number. personally i think if he did a smaller turbo and called it a day there wouldnt be any danger to destroying his low milage motor.

Re: 1999 civic si * Turbo OR Swap??
this has probably been said but, i say turbo the the b16. with a proper setup and proper tune, 220-300whp is reliably attainable... and it will be cheaper than a swap.

All motor B16 is a waste...
Boost for the most power... And MAYBE the fastest times
What people arent explaining to you about the k20 is... You'll prolly get 200k+ miles out of it AND running just as fast(if not faster) than your b16 on 10psi...
Yea the swap is expensive... But you get that back in reliability of running a bone stock motor... An OEM car is what you said you was looking for...
And you'll easily be able to get 1500+ for your b16 swap
A decent name brand turbo kit with supporting mods is still gonna run you well over $3500 if you want to get good mileage out of it...
Turbo B16s get up... But K20s are unreal...
Do yourself a favor and save up 3k FIRST then add $1500 and look around at some K swaps... You might be suprised what you find...
Either way Turbo B16s kick *** too...

Whatever you do put an alarm full coverage and maybe even lojack. My car was just stolen today I cursed myself in this thread.
