So quick little update tonight. Picked up a 2000 Integra gauge cluster on a whim to see if I could fab it into the Civic. Aside from wiring, it looks like it would just need some custom brackets to hold it in place and to splice/hybrid a gauge surround. Just took a pic of it sitting in place with the Civic gauge surround to see how it looks. Thoughts?

I also ordered an ASR rear subframe brace. I decided I'd rather be safe than sorry when I get around to putting my rear sway bar on. From the searching i've done some guys (and/or gals) dont use a subframe brace with a 17mm sway bar. But in all honesty I don't feel like I know enough to take that risk! Besides that it will just be a basic tune up before my next event on August 3rd!

I can't remember if I mentioned this earlier or not. But when I had my front lip ripped off, my bumper has never sat right since. This was due to the little tab on my bumper breaking where it attaches to my fender. To remedy this problem I decided to pick up some Dzus fasteners. I really really really wanted to go with Quik-latch fasteners... but could not justify spending that kind of money. For the price of one Quik-latch fastener I was able to get an entire bag of Dzus fasteners to do my entire bumper! I just got the drivers side by the fender done tonight but thought I'd share my progress.

Outlined and drilled my holes to fit the face of the fastener on the bumper.

Riveted it into place

I cut the part of the bumper away to fit the backing place of the fastener on. Then latched the fastener to get an idea where I needed to bend the backing plate at a 90 degree angle.

Bent, drilled, and then riveted the backing plate into the fender. Then finally just re-attached the fastener to the backing plate. It was fairly dark by this point so the picture quality is far from good. Hope to get more pictures up when I get the rest of the fasteners done.

Looks good! Did those scarebird rear brackets fit well? I'm going back and forth on wheather or not I should buy them. Also did you switch to a si proportioning valve when you switched to rear discs?

Brackets fit perfectly. I would definitely recommend them! And so far I have not switched my proportioning valve and have not noticed any issues.

Another small update today. Although I haven't finished up the quick release bumper yet, I have even more added to my to-do list when this little beauty showed up on my door! I guess we'll have to see what will get done first... but with another autocross around the corner I think I know what my priority is!

Now with my ASR bar on I'm hoping to sell my phi fifty bar and get to my sway bars! Quick pick of the old and new set up. I don't expect ill notice much of a difference before I get my sway bars on as the ASR is just acting the same as my old tie bar.

Long time no see H-T community! It has been a good summer auto crossing my Civic. Despite a small incident with a tire barrier at my last event all has been good. Used my tires to their max and now that I have home made slicks I've had to bite the bullet and order new ones. I finally tracked down an internal short in my fog lights and since they were cracked, I ordered a replacement set from eBay. I am not sure if I've mentioned this before but a broken bracket on my factory headlights has always bugged me, so I went ahead and ordered new headlights at the same time. I'm still not sure how I feel about the black housings, but maybe they will grow on me. I've also found a genuine SiR front grill that I have yet to paint and put on. I am very disappointed with the fitment of the eBay one I got and would not recommend ever getting one. the eBay grill lacked the mounting points to the bumper and caused a constant squeak. As well there were larger gaps on either side that I wasn't overly happy with.

Now that my car is parked for winter, I've been getting the itch to do more with it. So I started looking into options for front plates to cover my ugly bumper license plate holes. What I ended up doing was ordering the factory license plate caps from my dealer. Hopefully I don't blow all of my money pointlessly waiting for winter to end!

Finally decided on an engine for my little hatchback! I found an Em1 B16 swap that was too good of a deal to pass up. Mechanical parts list is the following:

B16A2

Random extras that I hope to have on by summer:

All I can remember off the top of my head but here is a couple teaser pics up! Hope to get more soon as I unpack everything. Test fit the Type R spoiler on my Rx-7 Also not 100% sure if its genuine or eBay but it does say Honda with a part number on it. Maybe some more senior/knowledgeable folks on here could set me straight when I get more pics up!

Believe it or not, there is a B16 hidden somewhere in there amongst all those parts and boxes!

                        There it is!

It fit so well, if it wasn't ridiculously ugly on an Rx-7 I might consider mounting it!

I am thinking so, for right now. I have my back Honda emblem painted flat black to match all my black trim and am really liking the "DX" look with the silver.

Well it has certainly been a while. Now that the snow here has started to melt I thought I'd share a few pictures of what I've been up to. Painted the type r wing I got last year. I by chance had done my old grill in krylon metallic silver. From what I've researched people say its as close to a perfect match to Honda's vogue silver you'll find in a can. But you guys can be the judge of that! I didn't want to put it on as is. Since the last owner had it a dark metallic blue. Yet at the same time I want to read spray the whole car professionally at the same time. Therefore, rattle can pay the job for now! After multiple coats of clear I think it came out decent.

Also decided to swap out steering wheels this winter. Although I'm not totally satisfied with this one it will do for now. Not saying I plan to hit another barrier auto crossing this his year... but if I should, I'm not worried about an air bag in this his year he face. I also feel like an adhd child in terms of my gauge cluster. I am picking up a 2000 civic SiR custer this week to replace my Acura El one. I'm sure in another 6 months I'll just be itching for a type r cluster........... more pictures to come!

Quick update tonight. Got my SiR gauge cluster installed this weekend. Also painted my new grill and lip. Grill I did the same way as the wing and the lip I did in a flat black. My thought was that it would match the stock side skirts this way. No pictures of the lip yet as its drying as we speak but I do hope to get it on in a few days. Sadly, B16 is not in yet!

Been doing some work on the B16 the last couple of months. Got it mounted up on my engine stand and stripped it down. I spent many hours cleaning it up with degreaser and prepping it for paint. At first I thought of hand polishing it and clearing it... After about an hour and a sever hand cramp I decided to paint it high temp "aluminium silver". Although I did hand polish the engine code plate to a mirror finish and cleared it with high temp engine paint. Also mounted up a new set of tires to my RPF1s. It might not sound like a lot now that I'm writing it out... but it felt like a lot more work at the time

This a great build man, you have done a great job with this car. All the way from the brake conversion to the new engine swap

Just a quick picture of the Skunk2 adjustable cam gears on! I really like the colour of the gears with the head and block colour.
