Default 195/50 15 recommendations?

I had Azenis already and they are best bang for the buck tire out there, however I need some comparable tires to mount on a 15x6 wheel or 15x6.5 wheel. (not sure of the size, JDM 96 ITR wheels)

I heard the Dunlop FM 901's are a little on the soft side. Need tires for daily driving and some lapping event. NO DRAG chit.

No Nitto stuff either.

thedse are excellent tires that are in your budget. 1201aeromotiv.com sold a lot of these recently and matt will give you a good deal. treadwear rated at 300, very good daily tire even if you wanted to get silly on the streets.

Ive been thinking about gettin the Bridgestone Potenza S03 as well. Are they so heavy that they are not worth getting? I have heard that they were heavy before but the reviews at http://www.tirerack.com say only good things about them.

i didn't like them. very noisey and not enough grip IMO.

edit: and when i say grip, i mean dry traction. wet traction was good, but i will sacrifice good wet traction for better dry traction anyday.

He asked for tires he could buy for daily driving. The S03 PP would not last as long as the Azenis and they are a bit more expensive, so he might as well get Azenis.

he also said he needs tires for a 15x6 wheel. azenis are recommended for wheels 7"+.

S03 PP has a higher treadwear (220) compared to the Azenis (200) which we all know Azenis's treadwear is much lower than that

If you want dry and wet traction - S03s
If you want superior dry traction - Azenis

for the price the 700Zs are great and they have pretty good grip but i don't know if i would use them on the track. i guess it depends on the car and how serious you are. i love them for my daily tires tho. great price and i would say they're comparable to kumho 712s

I think for daily driving and "average" tracking, its not a bad tire. I used to take the 90 degree corner to get onto my street at 40+ MPH when no one was coming and the tires would hardly even screech - mods included all of Tenzo coilovers (the threaded kind) and busted shocks... no bigger sway bars or strut tower bars etc. I was very happy seeing as with stocks they would screech like a mother at like 15mph - LOL!

I have the Toyo Proxes FZ4 on my car right now. They are great wet and dry tires. Loads of traction in the wet and even better traction when it is dry. Good all round tires for the money, I think. Could probably pick up a set for under $300 or maybe even less. Treadwear is about 300. Buddy of mine has had a set for about a year and he hasn't noticed significant treadwear and still has great traction.

SWEET! See look another good comment on the Pirelli's!

I dunno, I like them because not everyone runs em. As stupid as that sounds... everyone runs Kumho or Falkan - I just like to know my tire isnt the same tire on 6000 other imports in my area
