I'm trying to find out if the inlet pipe is 2.5" Inside Diameter (I.D.) , Or Outside Diameter (O.D.) . If
2.5" describes the inside diameter of the pipe, it is a true 2.5" muffler. If 2.5" refers to the outside diameter of the pipe, obviously the inside diameter will be smaller. No one seems to know though..

I haven't see on a db8... but the tip is long and you need to put in your own over axle piece... so I'd say it should fit nicely once you go to a decent shop.

Re: [REVIEW] OBX Twin Loop Muffler , Mugen Twin Loop Replica
Just realized I have never posted, only lurked... So here is another review.
As I did a lot of research to find good info, and it wasn't all in one place here is what i can share:
*****FIRST, this does fit an EK hatch without problem*******
Goal:
I selected this muffler to replace a shot eBay special midpipe-back system that had a broken weld on the muffler and just got too loud. It also didn't fit quite right, it wasn't anything special.
I wanted something quiet, sporty and cool looking as the car is a daily for my girl that we really like. The eBay system was a resonator, and fart-can only, no catalytic converter. The OBX twin-loop was installed by simply cutting off the broken fart can muffler. The resonator with no cat setup was maintained.
Review:
I found this muffler to have excellent quality, I was very impressed with the welds and general construction (as a point of reference, I work with high end BMW and Porsche systems for a living). You will be happy with this muffler for such a reasonable price.
Fit and looks are perfect on the EK hatch, it tucks up nicely (even without a lower type R valance). It looks much, much better in person than in pictuers i could fin on the net. The tip also looks very good, not goofy at all.
Sound is quiet; quieter than the World Sport I had on my Integra. I would say if you want to enjoy a nice audio system, this and a resonator make a very good match. An adult exhaust system if you will.
Without a resonator it should sound a lot more like a typical sport exhaust system in terms of volume- while still being reasonable. Thats a good option too.
Other notes:
-This is a weld on only, it come with no flanges or hangers
-A life time warranty card is included in the box
-The sound reduction capability of this muffler is strong
-The OBX is short in length like the real Mugen (the Netami brand, the one JDM carboy was selling, is a good bit longer and won't fit certain applications like the EK hatch)
-I paid $100 shipped for the muffler from eBay in March 2012, I am glad I spent a little more on the OBX
-It cost me $80 to have it installed
-I would highly recommend this muffler to anyone!
