Pretty cool. The CC looks really good i had to cheat and scroll down to the finished product before i read the write up. Then went back and read it. Nice write up!

Re: (ProjectNoob)
Yea, I just used this write up not to long ago, but ordered the si bulbs instead.
It was helpful though while removing everything.

Along the lines of this, has anyone changed just the upper bulbs to make the needles illuminate another color like a deep yellow against the white lit numbers on the gauge?
Any pictures or thoughts on this? I'm not crazy about the entire amber/red look but just the needles might be a nice look.

You can't change the color of the needles. The bulbs are white, there is a plastic film thing that has blue transparent shapes in it. I tried taking it off and it lights up the cluster way to much.

Does anyone know roughly how much the replacement bulbs for the climate control cost? Mine are out and I'm thinking about doing this tomorrow.

Re: [DIY] Amber/Red 99-00 Climate Control/Cluster (rhennin)
anyone know if painting the bulbs with acrylic paint is fine?
EDIT: DO NOT USE ACRYLIC PAINT!!!!
Started smoking and smelled like ****!
I then just used several coats of red sharpee and it turned out great

Re: [DIY] Amber/Red 99-00 Climate Control/Cluster (green-)
You should post the correct amount of bulbs for BOTH the climate control AND gauge cluster.
But great writeup for sure.

I tried doing it with red sharpie but, they didn't light up and it started smoking! Don't really matter tho, selling my EX and getting another EM1!!! dont have to worry about painting my bulbs to get the amber look
Nice write-up none the less

There is no led that will work. The neowedge bulbs that the Honda use are a 1mm microlamp. The only 1mm micro LED's I've seen are only green or red, and are NOT self resisting.
Stop asking this, you've been told it won't work in other threads.

just did mine last night... came out badass... now time for the climate control... but yea... i was wondering bout making the needles look yellow somehow... anyone know a way, let us know!!
#225
i've seen a writeup on painting the actual needle itself yellow or color of your choosing. believe it's the only method i've seen of changing the needle color.
btw, are the oem em1 gauge cluster AND climate control bulbs amber? if so, i think i'll just order both sets from honda...
