factory xm radio in civic
ok so here is my question.
my gf just purchased a 2006 civic EX which she thought came with xm.
when she went to activate the service they said that since the original buyer did not choose to have the xm radio, it is xm ready, but not equipped to use xm without a kit?
what does she need to purchase to make the xm radio work with the FACTORY headunit, not the aftermarket kit you mount on the windshield?

You need an XM kit. I got mine from College Hills Honda for a bit less than $250, including shipping.
If you can read and change your own oil you can install the kit yourself. It took me a little more than an hour for the install. The dealer will charge close to $500 for the kit and installation.
Here's a link to the directions.
