K24A2 cams in K20Z3, anyone done it?
Come around tax time we should have the expenses from my wife's and I wedding and honeymoon back in October paid off. Giving me the clear for go fast parts for my 2011 Si I bought back in February. Will have a Hytech custom 4-2-1 header, Vibrant street power 2.5" header back exhaust, TBS, rear engine mount and of course Flashpro. Car already has a K&N typhoon intake. I really would like to do cams and valvetrain as well and was set on the skunk2s at one point with supporting valvetrain and chain tensioner then decided against anything with opening up the motor and just strickly using bolt ons. Well I been reading up on using both intake and exhaust cams from the 06-08 TSX in these cars. Apparently they are the most aggressive OEM Honda K series camshafts one could get. Making a big difference in midrange, but pretty much about the same power topend as the Z3 cams. I plan on getting some track time next year if I can get some race brake pads and good wheels/tires although that all may be on the next winters to do list. We will see. But I'm just wondering if anyone has ever swapped in TSX cams into their car that already has bolt ons and flashpro? What kindof power difference did it make and how did it feel?
For what I'd pay for new OEM TSX cams from Honda I could get skunk2s and probably valvetrain too I know that, as well as make more power with a 3" exhaust or even a 70mm. But I'm not looking for max power, more so useable power for daily and tracking. This is the thread I'm currently reading up on with my free time. 29 pages so gonna take a bit with how busy I typically am. Thanks for the help, hoping I can get some answers

I like that thread but hate that the dyno results are 2 years apart then another 4 month gap.
Here's another, http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/cams-...m-results.html

**** 8th civic !!!!!!!!!!!!! there r NO people on there that actually contribute and know what they are talking about .... everybody just reads other posts and passes it on as the RULE or the WAY . stay away from there ... cause most of the info is wrong/ miss leading or worse,
take the SRI VS CAI debate for example .....

na, k20a is completely different. 8thcivic.com is good sometimes, but for the most part I would stay away with this kind of stuff. I thought about going this route but honestly once you get done paying for the swap you wont be happy with the money to power gain. If your gonna do it, go all out and do it right. Get some proven cams with the proper other valvetrain stuff you need and dont forget a cam chain tensioner for these motors is a MUST! Ive seen guys making around 230hp without going completely nuts on a stage 4 cam.
