I just made my 1000 mile journey home and I think I am starting to hear some wheel bearing noise.. Is this considered a normal wear item or will the honda warranty cover it? I have 35,000 on the car.. Its an 07 Si sedan, but I did purchase the extended hondacare warranty to 80,000.... Any help would be appreciated.. I just want to get it fixed before I have to drive back to school on the 28th...

thats a good question.
maybe you should contact your honda dealer about that.
cuz everyone who has seized a wheel bearing knows that its definitely not fun when it happens, especially while driving.
but be careful cuz they might pull the "environment card" on you and not cover you like they did to me. i hate honda dealers and all those that work there.

What is the environment card? Im just curious if they will warranty it because I dont think a bearing should go bad after 35k.... I dont even know if it is the bearing for sure, I just know I hear a slight hum and would like to have it looked at before I drive another 1000 miles back to school..

35K, you'd still be under the original warranty anyways.

its when they tell you that its the environments fault, such as weather and stuff. and they wont cover it.

Honda will cover it, it was a recall, same thing happened to mine.

Sorry but no, they cannot make up a bogus excuse like that and refuse to cover it if it's still within the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty period, under which the original poster is still covered. This is especially the case if the part is covered under a technical service bulletin or recall campaign. Sounds like you should have made some telephone calls to higher officials at Honda and pressed the issue.

where is the noise coming from just a quick tip double check the rear tires if they are wear unevenly you should check for the bulletin that apply to the rear upper control arms

Serpentine belts on some K-series engines are known to squeal. It's not extremely common, but I have seen it happen numerous times. Our shop has dealt with belt squeals on Accord, CR-V, Element, RSX, TSX, etc. Often, it can be caused by contamination of the belt with cleaning agents or other chemicals including oils, solvents, brake parts cleaner, etc. The only fix is to replace the belt.

While I'm sorry to hear that your local dealership (by the way, each dealership is typically a separate entity and most have no relation to one another) won't replace your belt, you need to understand that your minor belt noise issue is just a bit less important and will garner less sympathy than the original poster's potential safety issue that was covered under a massive recall campaign.

As for your problem, contact Honda customer service at 1-800-999-1009 if you aren't satisfied.

As it turns out my wheel bearings are fine.. They told me it could have been the roads I was driving on or my tires.. I am from the northeast ands our roads are a little different then what they use here is Tennessee..

The guy also was dumb enough to tell me that the only hum they heard from the rear of the car was my exhaust, which is a straight pipe, and asked me if I knew I had no muffler and if i bought the car used.. I replied with a no, I bought the car new, and its a stright pipe.. Ill be there in 10 minutes to get my car. WTF
