silly parking brake/e brake question...
I just got an 08 coupe, and when I first got it I noticed when I pulled up the e-brake it didn't make the normal clicking noise that e-brakes make. I thought, oh cool, it doesn't make that sound anymore?
Then today while I was parking when I pulled it up it make some clicking noises. I figure because its so new it just was smooth and didn't make the clicking noise.
So do yours click when you pull up the e-brake?
thanks for answering the silly question....

We had a civic in the other day (dont recall if it was an 08 or not) but when you pulled up on the ebrake you heard a faint clicking sound but nothing like normal. I thought it was kinda weird.
On a side note...anyone else having problems with ebrake holding on inclines??? Honda has issued that they want to inspect any cars that have this problem..could turn into a possible TSB or recall... who knows.

Would also depend on how steep the incline is. If it's fairly steep one should put the car in gear as well as apply the e-brake.

Ive had a few instanced when i was on a regular driveway and i pulled the ebrake up a and let go of the brake pedal and began to roll backwards slowly. I had to hulk the handle all the way up so i wouldnt roll back, im gonna have it looked at soon.

That actually happened to my 06 si ONCE in my dads driveway... but it only did it the one time, I just chalked it up to me not pulling it up far enough.

Interesting you mention this, I was having a problem with this. In fact, you could actually move the car by pushing real hard with the E-brake fully on. When I had it at the dealers for the 1st oil change I asked them to check it and they said they checked and told me "The E-brake is with in factory specification".
When I had the Brembo's installed I asked my mechanic to check it as well. He did and did not find anything wrong, but now it holds like a rock.
I will not even speculate as to why it is working now when it was not before. The new brakes on the front do not have any impact on the e-brake. Anyway, it works good now.

Re: silly parking brake/e brake question...
I just bought an 09 civic coupe and it has the exact same problem. The parking brake does not make any noise when I pull it up. It seems like the brake works, but I have to pull it really hard to get it to stay on my driveway, which is not even that steep. Is this a problem? I don't want my car rolling around the street when I am not in it.

Re: silly parking brake/e brake question...
yeah, I will have them look at it. I would think they would pull the parking brake once before they ship it out of the factory to see if it works, or whenever they check stuff before they sell it to you. I just got it and it sucks having to take it in. I wanted to see what happened to the others with the same problem.
