Default si spoiler

i have a 2007 si sedan and the rear spoiler is flat against the trunk like this:

instead of having the gap between the trunk and spoiler like this:

is that a sedan thing or just an '07 thing? what i really want to know is if anyone has switched them. i like the one with the gap better and would like to switch it if it uses the same mounting holes.

[EDIT] this is what i am wanting to do. can anyone tell if that is a coupe wing?

It's not that big of a difference. You cannot even really see it in the rear-view. At least not as much as you could with the EM2 coupe/spoiler.

It is a sedan vs coupe thing. All Si sedans come from the factory with the same spoiler as you, except for the Mugen Si and it's wing. All Si coupe's come with the "higher" spoiler.

I imagine you could buy a coupe spoiler, paint it your color and mount it to your trunk. I'm sure it can be done. People have bought the Mugen look-a-like wing intended for the sedan and put it on the coupe. It looks terrible, just as I imagine the coupe spoiler on the sedan would look. They are different for a reason.

i could understand the mugen wing looking a bit rediculous (very ricer), but as far as i can tell the coupe and sedan spoiler are the same shape, its just that the coupe has its spoiler raised on 3 posts. shouldn't look terrible.

I think a coupe wing would look good. The sedan concept had the coupe wing with taller stems. I don't have a picture to post, but it was their concept car.

I'm pretty sure that Honda doesn't. You can probably find a replica somewhere.

if you look close it is the exact same spoiler as what is exactly on the 4 door with legs on it. if someone is feelin lucky they could try this mod themselves

I want to know why we didn't get those fender flairs or why the HFP suspension didn't come as standard equipment.

i bet cost was a big factor. the actual cars never look exactly the same as the show cars.

actually this has been asked before

and the answer is no.

you can fit an FG spoiler on an FA because the holes the FG wing has do not line up with the FA trunk and is more curved.

why dont you just go with a coupe VIS spoiler?

Look at post #975. I know it can be done, I was questioning the contradicting context of his statement.

hahha alright.

the fa does look a little weird with the fg wing.

i think the wings should stay with the designated car.
