5000 miles, or until your oil is at 20% life. DON'T CHANGE IT BEFORE! Honda put in break-in oil from factory, so leave it in there until you hit one of those numbers.

Enjoy

Everyone I have seen that changed it sooner has not had an issue. I changed mine around 4000, which showed 20% left. I have added 3000 miles already and it shows around 70%.

Just repeating the Honda propaganda, which has some truth to it. I've heard people talking about changing it at 500-1000 miles, which is a bad idea. If you drive hard during break-in (redline frequently, hit all RPMs at varying speeds), you probably will end up at 20% oil life at 4000 miles, so you are right on.

Basically, there isn't a big hurry to changing the break-in oil on your new car. But keep a consistant oil change going after.

The oil meter has been pretty consistant for me. So I just keep using it.

Read that thing they call the owners manual that came with your shiny new car. At a minimum, follow the recomendations in it and you will not have any future problems with any warranty claims.

Why would you trust the advice of total strangers on the internet, some of whom have no idea of what they are talking about?

Shhhh! Don't be smart!

He speaks the truth though. Read the manual.
