Default New member New CIVIC SI

Hey honda

I recently purchased a 2010 civic si 4d and LOVE IT.

I just wanted some input from the pros before I start modding. I do have a stealership warranty, and most likely aftermarket parts will void it. Are their any basic power mods I can do to the car, which wont take any more then 2-3 hours to swap for the stock before taking it to the dealership for checkups/oil changes.

I am currently looking at a power chamber intake
header
intake mani
exhaust

What else is their that I could easily "diy" on my car for some power?
Also from whats mentioned above, anyone recommend any brands for each?

OR
I could stay away from the motor and just do suspension mods.. But I want to make my car a little faster.

Basicly, i'd like to gain some power without having to take a whole day off swapping oem parts before taking the car in for a check up. Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance

Edit: This is the first k series for me, have experience with b series for years. If possible let me know the estimated install time for each with air tools.

Intake/ header/ cat back / flashpro will be the best mods you can do while still being able to switch it back to go to the dealer. the hardest install is the header but it still only takes 2 hours or so to install with just a basic set of sockets/ ratchet/ extensions.

don't waste the money on intake/header/exhaust because you'll make minimal power gains. Buy a flashpro if you want a little extra pep to lower the vtec threshold. Save your pennies and buy a supercharger/turbo because thats the only way to make a decent amount of power/torque.

You sir are a ****ing retard, straight up. Guess you've never seen how well these cars respond to quality bolt on's. And regardless, even if he was looking for another 70-100hp from a supercharger, you STILL NEED the intake/header/exhaust/flashpro to get the most out of it, well you don't NEED it but pretty dumb not to. But I think the OP just wants a bit more pep which is exactly what bolt on's will net you.

The real retards are the idiots who spend $2k on I/H/E and get <20whp out of it.

Do you know why people hate honda's? because idiot kids spend countless dollars to add stupid mods to their cars that make them obnoxiously loud and annoying to be driving next to.

If your car is fast, loud is acceptable.

If your car is slow (any honda without FI) then loud makes you an annoying ****.

Don't get me wrong, I love my honda, but I hate the morons running around with stupid loud cars and <200whp to show for it. Your honda is an economical car with a little fun factor thrown in the mix. If you don't plan on going FI, spend your money on some nice wheels, suspension work, and a flash pro.

OP congrats! Get in touch with Stephan at ASP, he can supply you with a very good header. As for exhaust and intake, it is preferance and trial and error but 3" piping works pretty well. I had a cold air but I make more power with a short ram. Get a flash and you are ready to go.

bjonesy - What is good suspension and what are nice wheels to you? I would like to hear/see this. Maybe we can see what the best way to build a Honda is so we can get your approval on our next purchase.

I like my NA K24 and I never ever think about FI when I pass corvettes and Sti's with a smile...

Cool story bro. It's obvious the OP doesn't want to go FI, and since that's all you believe in it makes you comments pointless, thus leave.

I'm sorry but na hondas are a little slow they have alittle pep but nothing to go crazy over my plans for my ep3 are with the k20a2 swap i'm only doing intake mani full exhaust kpro tb and stage 2 cams and i'm only expecting it to run a low 13 high 12 maybe I could be wrong...either way FI isn't THE way to go people can be happy with bolt ons and not have to spend 2-3k for a turbo or supercharger and only be slightly faster my other car destroys boosted hondas and i'm trying to keep mine n/a reliable and try to get near as fast as it

edit: and when my si only looses by 2 cars from 60 to 130 roll with a gti with everything done to it minus a big turbo and intercooler I'd say my n/a si is pretty quick

How much power/tq is your K24 making? Your car is fast, its loud, and thats awesome. My problem is with the moron kids running around in these hondas with 3" exhausts and fart cannons. The cars are obnoxious, they're slow, and they drive like ********. They are the reason that performance honda's carry an immature image.

I don't care about the actual suspension or wheels, I just think they're a more viable option to make your car more fun/look better than a silly exhaust that makes your car obnoxiously annoying to be in or around. Your NA honda was made to handle well, have enough power, be economical, and also reliable.

Of course, this is all a moot point if your honda is fast and we all know that most of the fast honda's have some sort of forced induction. Its nothing new that the fastest 4cylinder cars are forced induction. Hell, the fastest street cars in the world are using turbos. I'd like to use as an example.

What is the fastest NA honda 1/4 time on an 8th gen and also of all time? because by normal standards of a modified "fast car" would run <12 seconds and/or trap 115+

I've drag raced once in my life, so I don't keep track of 1/4 mile times. Auto X and track days are where it's a

I make 272 whp 212 wtq on my Circuit car. All Honda parts. What I make doesnt matter, what matters is you are blaming the wrong people for the scene being like it is. Assuming you are upset at the scene...

Street car with a test pipe and 100hp is one story, but having cat backs and a few bolt ons to lean out the AFR and get a couple HP and better mileage like the OP wants is acceptable . I agree somewhat on the exhaust with you that it's useless putting a test pipe on a 106hp street car, but the maturity problem the Honda scene has is much deeper than a test pipe, the wheels poking out and crew names carved in plates like its the DUB show. In 92 the scene was way different, I come from the old street racing scene before Battle of the imports started, when the legends were on the street in compton not on the track, and people were humble and down low. Go to a meet now, it's all hipster infested and rude kids think they are gangster. Now a days I just road race and do time attack and steer clear of adding stretched tires and test pipes to my daily driver. Guess that's why my daily isnt a Honda. (im selling my srt4 for a FA civic though)
My father drives my 89 Si to work to save gas, he gets profiled by people all the time. They see an old civic hatch with JDM stuff on it and when they pull up to ask if he will sell it, see an old man driving it and get shocked haha! My old man hates these kids but likes the handles and mpg of my hatch so much he wont let it go even though he hates the profiling he gets.

I guess in the end we all agree jonesy. OP sorry for whoring up your thread. caryy on

Here's a fast NA 8th gen: http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/autoc...ew-record.html

And, who says you have to have a loud exhaust? There are alternatives that will keep the sound reasonable.

Oh BTW, here's a list of some of the fastest 8th gens: http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/autoc...ets-2-0-a.html
