lowering springs???
does it void my power train warrenty when i install aftermaket springs? seeing how this is not my motor nor my tranny...
#2
Yea it will void it, no questions asked. Improperly lowered cars and lowered height CAN cause certain stress levels on the CV joints which in turn are an INTEGRAL part of the drive-train.
Everyone lowers their car without any problems, but thats enough of an excuse for a car company to void your warranty.

Re: lowering springs??? (bjizzle07)
Simply installing the springs does not void your warranty. The dealership has to be able to prove that the springs you installed caused the problem you are trying to have covered under warranty.

Springs which are of stock height and have exact same compression ratio as stock springs won't give you any problems at the dealership. But the title clearly states "LOWERING SPRINGS" and you can call up any dealership and ask them if AFTER MARKET-LOWERING springs NOT installed by Honda will void your warranty, they will CLEARLY say yes. And the reason why is what I mentioned earlier.
Ask any dealership of any car manufacturer, altering your car with after market suspension components is the fastest and easiest way to void your warranty. Hell i've known guys who got questioned more then once for paperwork regarding HFP parts just to prove they were installed by the dealership.

Yea I'd like to see one of these kids take their car back to the dealership with cut springs on stock shocks and demand to be repaired because their cv joints started knocking when making u-turns...

the situation you describe is a warranty claim being denied, not a warranty being voided.
and why did you bring up cutting factory springs? this is about lowering springs, not cut springs.

It was the principal I was trying to point out. The dealership doesn't see the difference between a full $1000 Tein coil-over system and cut/heated springs. Its ENOUGH grounds to void warranty and deny repairs. Sure if you wanna throw the stock suspension back on for repairs, then there shouldn't be any problems but is that worth it?

Woah..QUOTES! since I'm seriously failing to comprehend what you wrote not once but twice..
I'd like to see you fight that case with a dealership and have your car back in same-state as you handed it to them.

what does that have to do with you "failing to comprehend" the difference between a claim being denied, and your warranty being voided?

^^this is a good 'simple' explanation. it will give you a better understanding of what you're talking about.

Re: (IT GUY)
what you are saying is that lowering (with non-honda parts) the car will void a warranty. they by law can not do that. they can only deny a warranty not void the rest of the drivetrain because of one problem. if it is done properly and can not be proved that the springs actually did damage to the damaged part then you have nothing to worry about.

Ask any dealer. Any real dealer.
It don't matter if your lowered by an inch or 2. lowered's lowered.
