just changed my tranny fluid...honda mtf --> royal purple synchromax
just changed my tranny fluid and oil...i have an 07 si (i had honda's new mtf) i know i didn't really need to change my tranny fluid so soon but i thought i would do it anyways and see if there was a difference...so far i just drove around the block it felt smooth but nothing drastically different from honda mtf...ill edit my post after i drive a little more
p.s. this is to anyone that changed their tranny fluid...when i took out the drain bolt a bunch of tranny fluid poured out...i know you are suppose to fill up your tranny fluid until it starts to spill out. mine didnt drip out mine POURED out...im not sure if this is how honda fills up new trannys...i tried to fill up the most i can but the space was just too small to put in the plug right after it started to spill out
ill leave more details on my experience with royal purple synchromax later tonight
**edit**
well after driving about 100 miles with my new tranny fluid i did notice that it was more quiet and you didnt hear those little grinds into 2nd gear...it is also slightly smoother but nothing too brag about.

i just did my mtf on my 07 si about a week ago. i put the part # 3031 honda fluid in yea i remember when i took out the drain plug it empty out real quick too.
it doesnt take much to fill its less then three Qts and since i have did the change it feels great ! no more grinding or 3rd gear problems iam not hard shifting feels great too just gotta make sure the tranny is nice and warm or els

Re: (limpy)
i switched to RP synchromax for a while. At first it was smooth as a all hell...after driving a while, it all came back, the grinding, the popping, the notchiness. So i had my dealership rebuild my trans. They replaced the synchros and replaced the forks for 1-2 and 3-4, flushed the tranny and refilled with OEM MTF. So far the trans has been great (its only been a week) but if it comes back, the car will go back in.

to all HT! royal purple is not recommended in hondas! go to there website and check for yourself! RP reconmends there 10w30 motor oil instead of there syconmax stuff for mtf. i know this because i did my research after i had put that crap in my type r trans. it grind in 4th gear and i was very upset and called them myself for info. they said for hondas use 10w30 engine oil.
i went and got some honda new mtf and butter!
