How much did you pay for your Civic coupe?
The dealer has LX models for $18.1k and EX models for $20.1k. I'm curious if it would be possible to get the dealer down to $18k even on an EX, or $16k even on an LX. Think it's possible?
Also what is the difference between the models other than the wheels?

Hey Aaron, i've been test driving around here myself. My favorite dealership is Hopkins Honda. They have a great building and the service has always been good, i'd look there after poking around for internet sales prices.
Anyways, the EX has:
EX adds:
• 16" alloy wheels
• 4-wheel disc brakes
• One-touch power moonroof with tilt feature
• Exterior temperature indicator
• Steering wheel-mounted audio controls
• Security system with remote entry and trunk opener
• Variable intermittent windshield wipers
• Additional 12-volt accessory outlet
• 350-watt AM/FM/XM Ready®†/CD Premium Audio System with 7 speakers including subwoofer
• 60/40 split fold-down rear seatback
and black comes as an interior option on silver, black, and red. Otheriwise it's gray or tan.
And if you want, you can get navi in the EX's as well.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I went poking around last night and ended up at Bloomington/Richfield Honda. They had a new 2007 red on black EX which I thought was a ncie car for $20.1k. I don't think I would want an SI because I don't want to deal with the insurance.
I stuck my BMW on autotrader for ***** and giggles and to my surprise someone actually called but I've yet to call back so I kind of need to figure out if I really want to sell. The Civic definitely may not be the nicest looking car on the road but I know it would be problem free, and if I'm not mistaken the dash lights up bright white like the TSX which I would like...

dash lights up blue or red depending on trim level... for $20k on an EX it better have NAVI (I'd still haggle) and as far as insurance on an SI.. mine went up all of $20 a month from a 92 integra RS.. It really depends on your CLUE report as to what kind of rates you'll get, almost more than the car that's being insured

Re: How much did you pay for your Civic coupe? (IT GUY)
I just want a regular EX without NAVI and I would like to know if the dealers would let it go for $18k flat...feasible or no? The $20k was for non-navi models AFAIK, I didn't look too close at the sticker but all the EX cars were $20k so I assume those were non-navi.
This would just be a daily driver for one year, no modifications, nothing. A stock, new car with a warranty and no problems.

It's possible they'd let it go for that much... The dealership by me gets $19.5k for EX's on the website. Since it's not an SI (dealer's think they can screw everone on SI's) and 08's really aren't too far off, I think it's totally feasible to get an EX close to $18k flat.. I never said you should get an SI, just that people were able to get them for the EX asking price at the dealer you looked at.

I'd check edmunds.com. You can fill out what you want (Civic EX, maybe even a color) and send it to 4 of the locals (Hopkins, Bloomington, Buerkle, and some other one) and since it's a blind request, and they know they have competition, the internet sales department will usually put one of their best offers forward.
Two accessories i'd really recommend are 1) the auto dimming rearview mirror with compass, and 2) leather steering wheel cover (I like the grip of the leather much better).
Go and test drive one of these though. I like the Civic coupe for its style, size, and economy, but I've test driven a Mazda3 as well and liked the handling and power compared to the Civic.
You can also get an HFP kit of shocks and springs if you don't like the ride height and want to keep the warranty on the coupe

Have you driven a TC by chance? I have a buddy with an '06 and I admit I was impressed with the interior.

I did, but a few things turned me off. It has a 4 speed auto, and I want a 5 speed or CVT. It also gets about the same fuel economy my current car does, and I want to get a more fuel efficient car because I do mostly city driving. With the 3 i'd see at least a 2 mpg difference, with the Civic about a 5. The 3's really intriguing to me because of the functionality of the wagon style and the lower insurance cost compared to a Civic.
I agree though, the tC's are well built and styled nicely. The powerplant and drivetrian were the dealbreakers for me. If it had a Corolla engine instead of a Camry, and weighed a bit less, i'd probably want it

Insurance, fuel economy, and for me, shift effort are all things that concern me for a daily driver. I can save my money for a track car if I so wish, or perhaps a Camaro in this case

What did you think about the interior on it? I was totally blown away when I test drove a 2.3l Mazda3 5spd for the first time.. The SI has a better 'fun-factor', but I felt more solid in the mazda, and it felt like a more expensive car.

I thought the interior was great. The 07's and 08's have a better interior fabric pattern than the earlier ones, more dark colors. The red line through the audio panel was great, the gauges were cool, but my complaint was the armrest was NOT comfortable in the least. I liked the room in back, esp with the rear seats down.
I know what you mean about solid as well. The Si can out-handle the 3, but I was pleasantly surprised about its road manners. It didn't float over bumps, it communicated back well, and it was pretty tight, which surprised me because of the big open space in the back due to the wagon design. It felt very solid, both in structure and material quality.
The only thing keeping me from outright saying 'Civic' for my next car is the power, feel, and versatility of the 3 wagon.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Puma »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

I bought a 07 lx auto coupe for $18,0XXX OTD.
I just helped my friend get his 07 EX auto for $18,150 + TTL which was around $19,8XXX OTD.
Both cars included wheel locks, mudguards, and door protectors.
If you want a manual, subtract ~$1000 and that should be your OTD price.
