Re: (jonness)
just asked JE performance that question a few minutes ago will post more info once I know. I know you can send to hondata and it can take like 3 or more days, so I wonder how long it would take at a shop

I tried to get my ECU out today for this, but later found out that you have to send it/drop it off with an authorized Hondata dealer, then the dealer will have to send it out to Hondata. From what the Hondata guy told me, it sounded like shops that install the S100/S200 etc... cannot reflash, only hondata can..
Oh and the guy at Hondata told me that it will take 1-2 days from when they get the ECU to get it back out to the dealer....

Re: (xlur8ed)
From what I was reading on Hondata's website, you could find a dealer that can do the reflash, so in a sense, you could stop at that shop, get the reflash, and be on your way. I am not saying that this is 100% correct, but that's what I gathered from their site. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. I also emailed the shop in Stroudsburg PA and asked if they can do the reflash at the shop for me if I were to stop by. I will post details once they arrive.

That would be killer....altho up here in the sticks, there isn't a hondata dealer for 1000 miles Let me know if there is a shop that can do it tho, as that will shave a few days off having no car

You guys really need to read the site for all the details. It specifically says
You will need to remove the ECU and via a dealer send it to Hondata. Unlike reflashes for other Honda models you will not need to send the key and immobilizer; just the ECU. Fill out this form and contact a Hondata dealer. Hondata does not sell direct. All ECUs must be sent to Hondata for reprogramming. No Hondata dealer has the equipment to reprogram this ECU.
So, NO you will not be able to have this done locally.
Also it states
Turnaround is 1-2 business days.
So that means 1-2 business days plus shipping time to and from Hondata which obviously would vary depending on where you live.

Well this is what I was reading. On the chart, at the top, you will see the dealer and what services they provide. One of the columns says "Flash Upgrade" and the dealer near me has an 'X' here, thus telling me that I will be able to get my ecu flashed by them. Is this wrong? To me, this is saying that some dealers are able to reflash your ecu. If not, wouldn't any dealer be able to send it out to Hondata to get reflashed?
