Re: Help decide between Civic LX-S and Si
Wanna know what? It sounds like you push your cars hard. I'm bumping this thread because I think it is important for anyone torn between a racer and a cruiser. I've been shifting for 10 years. Then I bought the 09 Si, and I'm yet again...shifting. 1st 2nd 3rd 2nd neutral and on and on and on.
At some point you GOT to get an automatic and just F'n relax a little on the road. But until you've gotten to that point, keep shifting - race - crash - and repeat.

Maybe you are right about not getting a Civic, I really miss my Integra and am not very impressed with the current Honda Civic in many areas.
My apologies for being incorrect about previous Si models..i don't eat, sleep, live Honda. I have owned only Honda & Acura cars since 1995 and been very happy with their reliability and performance but don't have all the models memorized. As one "in the know" do you know when the next re-design is supposed to happen on the SI...isn't it due soon?

Can you settle for less?
Or is it worth it to you to have all the extra features?
And also, as to the new civic. Nobody really knows the facts yet, but it is speculated to be renewed sometime around 2012.
good luck with your choice.

Nowadays I don't trust any car that can drive itself into a wall with no driver input.

Well aren't you the bees knees? Accidents happen, and can happen at any speed. Hell I totalled my hood (lol) when I rolled into the back of a Wrangler one time at < 5mph. Fvckin automatic transmissions! They'll kill ya.

Since I bought the 08 Si, I've considered buying an LX or EX as a daily driver and turning the Si into a weekend ride.

integra's are pieces of **** compared to any new car. Every time I get in my 01 i remember that its based off a 92 civic and I get sad. It rides like crap, it rattles like crazy and the performance trade off is just not there. I'm getting rid of mine for a 06 SI.

^ sir, don't speak like a moron. Whenever you use the word "any, everything" or any words that is referring to the overall, you automatically wrong. Why? Because there is no such thing as better or worst than anything. If you are smart, there will be people who are smarter than you and if you are stupid, of course there also people who is less intellectual than you because you can't be the stupidest person in the whole entire world can you? If you answer yes, then I will agree with you that the 01 Integras are a piece of **** compared to "any" new cars. So to reflect your statement, 01 Integra is not a (your quote) " pieces of **** compared to any new car ". Not any new cars are better than the Integra and I can name many of them if you are interested. So please, next time don't bash on cars that are well known, especially when the car is in the same family as the car you are comparing to.

first step is to test drive both cars.. most people will probably end up liking how the Si drives, much more than the LX. after that, you have to decide yourself what you wanna do with the car. that'll be the best way to decide if the car is for you. (btw, what about the EX trim?)
