I bought an 06 RSX base 5spd and within 6 months i had the same **** i had over 15 repair attemps on that ****** strut and everything connected to it..... the thing is american honda fights dirty !!! i hired a privite lawyer not bbb and they still called my bluff going to court(which by the way will take you up to a year to get a courtdate privately) so i went through the bbb and fought hard for about 6 months finally "I" "ME" caught American Honda in a Lie. so only then did they side with me and bought my car back .... so i bought a brand new 8th Gen SI thinking everything was going wrong with acura... WRONG i have the same problems with honda . but guess what im done i have a car that runs well and a car i love, end of story im to tired to do it again.....feel free to ask any question directly to my email i would love to try and help.... jarrodterry@***.net</TD></TR></TABLE>

On my contract its clearly states that if after three times of trying to fix the problem I can consider it a lemon. So why didn't you get the same right? Was it used or something?

well here is the thing once they repair something 2 times and you start screaming lemon they start covering their asses. they will state on service records in code literally only part numbers so that they can tell you that they replaced something but really it was something different.... then when you get to legal they say it clearly states in the lemon law now pay attension to this here is the tricky part..." Ca. lemon law states that you trhe consumer have the right to arrburtration if you can prove that your vehicle has been impaired by SAFTEY, USE, or VALUE, if you cant prove anyone of those are true for your car they can repair your car 50 times if they want.... now if you want to spend big bucks on a lawyer they wont probably get away with it .... but you run the risk of loseing a lot of money. BBB works great if you can prove what i said above .... My case was built souly on Value, how do you American honda expect me to sell my car as a used car now to a private party and within 8 months of driving off the lot i have 28 service records. that would considerably lower the value of my car if someone asked to see all my records for the car . and this was where they lied in court and said " we dont feel that the problems you are having with your car are substantial enough for you to have to disclose that info to the buyer" haha so your telling me to lie is that correct ? case over i win !!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I know they just won't bend over and let me give it to em easy. But I'm really worried about whats to come at 20k 50k 100k when i dont have a warranty. If I can just even trade it in for a used rsx or something Id be alot happier. I just don't have a good feeling that when i go in thisnext time it will be the last. I just dont want the car anymore.

Cant i just trade it in for something else if it only had 6 k on it?

it's only racial if morons who tend to take everything as offensive against them let it be
and to the OP...
really if the same dealership is giving you hell, talk to the service manager and tell him what's up with their customer service. Walk out, go to another dealership and get it fixed. It is your own fault that they take longer to fix it. If there isn't any other dealership close to your location, then by all means call Honda headquarters.
Making such a big deal over small knockings. The car is drivable. When you ARE NOT BUSY, get the car fixed. but when you ARE BUSY, baby it.

Level 2 Rule Violation may be punished by any of the above actions but also add the following:
-User account ban

-User IP ban

anyway, he's making a big deal about the ignorance of them along with the persistent issue. it's a compound problem. why would he schedule when he "has time", when they can't even make time for him in circumstances when he's bending his schedule to meet theirs? listen, if you spend 22k+ on a car, it should be right. if it's not, they need to fix it. if they give honest attempts and don't disrespect the customer, then you have options- lemon law, which is a pain, or stick with them, keep in touch with honda area rep, and wait to see if the problem has gotten enough calls to have AH issue fixes. the ultimate problem here is the dealership's carelessness, not so much the car at this point. i feel bad for the OP and i think if you continually raise hell in a respectful way with the area rep and his supervisor, the dealer principal, the BBB, etc, you will have yourself a fixed issue.

Idiot...

...either way, it is NOT his fault they are taking so long to fix his car, how the hell does that make sense? The dealership sucks and if it's the closest one to him then he pretty much has to go there. Sure the car is drivable but do you know that for sure? I have the same problem right now and I swear it sounds like the next turn or bump I go over my left front tire is gonna come off and I'm hit the street and go up in flames from sparks and crap flying around.

I believe the Lemon Law is in regards to the actual purpose of his service request. If they can't fix the issue ...(THE ISSUE)...then he can claim Lemon. It's not if he brings it in and they fix a random part and they don't count that.

Hell...they vacuum my damn carpets everytime I bring my car in...does that count? They did...something...eh?

The thing that pisses me off is there wasn't anything wrong with the car as far as the struts UNITLL they fixed the bump stops. It's like everytime they fix one problem another one pops up. but this one isnt going away.

i'm having th same issues as well, will
go to the dealership as soon as i get
the chance.

two weeks ago i went to the dealership,
had an appointment a week before,
paid everything in full (protection plan)
then when i got there at the set tume, they
made me wait for two hours, they say they
can't give me a loaner or a rental for their
dealership doesn't offer that. they can't give
me ride home thru their shuttle for the
shuttle service is only till 4:40PM. i was at
the dealership at 4:00PM,and they made me
wait for two hours that's why the effing
shuttle wasn't available anymore.

i noticed that sound a week after i got my
car off the lot, around 35% of the time i hear
it but just don't have the time to go to them
guys yet. on the front driver side, hopefully
they get it fixed.

i can't wait to hear or see what they will do
to this problem when i come in to their
dealership as well.

That's exactly the situation. I'm glad somebody understands.

Striker_1818, if you aren't going to give any useful input and you think it's my fault, then like I said before, don't come here giving me your crap. I've had enough from them, I don't need to hear it from you. I already stated that I spoke to the service director and he set me aside. I can hardly see how it's my fault that they ignore me and forget my appointments.

Just thought I would update anybody who is curious.

So I did end up calling corporate, and they had the dealership give me a rental and fix my car again.

Turns out they lied about the rentals, because I talked to a Hertz guy that I work with, and apparently Honda West(the dealership) gets rentals from them to give to customers for free all the time.

It did turn out to be the bump stop, which I had mentioned to them, only to be ignored. They only listened when corporate told them to do it. I don't understand why neither the advisors, technicians, nor the service director knew about the bulletin.

I also figured I'd ask them about the ABS recall while I was picking up my finally fixed car, and it looks like they lied about that too. They told me it doesn't apply to my car so it doesn't need to be checked, but I just double checked the thread and my car is in the range.

Ugh, I really hope my car doesn't have anymore problems because I don't want to go through their bullshit anymore and the other dealerships are really far from me.

just keep in touch with the area rep through this whole thing. also keep the dealer principal in the loop and make sure you copy corporate on all communications.

Well my main issue is that I work at a car dealership as well, and I'm working 6 days a week. When I get off work during the weekdays, I have to go to class, and then by that time, I have no time to get my car serviced. I can't leave the car there because I have to get to work in the morning at 7AM. It isn't that I don't mind driving to Findlay, it's just hard for me to get it fit into my schedule because of the time it takes. Honda West is right across the street from my work

Well, my first issue got fixed; It's just that now there's that recall and they were trying to tell me it doesn't apply to my car so they didn't bother checking it. I also need maintenance done and I'd really rather not pay them or trust them to do it.

call the other reputable dealerships and explain your situation to the service manager. see if they can help you out with transportation or something; i dunno, i guess i have a way with words when i talk, but i typically am able to convince a business or company that what i'm saying is legitimate and needs their attention haha

cept, of course, the driveshaft shop, but that's another story hahaha..

OP, GL y0!
