Default dx, lx, ex auto owners

do your trannys make a ton of noise when your switching from P-R or D-R or R-P mine is pretty loud it sounds like the gear is being slammed into place. and also i have to put it in gear wait a while and then drive. It goes in slow so if i drive it will bump when it goes it. this thing is really starting to bug me.

When I shift into park and then start to roll I hear a "clunk" or "thud" like sound, very minimal tho. I don't feel anything however, I just hear it. It actually seems to happen sometimes when I go reverse as well, but the stealership AND the autobody shop I work at both say the same thing... It's nothing. All I know is that I got another 50k/4 years left on my warrantee, so we'll see what happens.

Try putting on the "parking" brake before you shift the car into park. Then when re-entering the car to drive again, shift into gear first. Then release the "parking" brake. That should solve your problems. Also make sure you're completely stopped before shifting to go in the opposite direction. That will extend your transmission, and CV joint life too.

Make sure that you are firmly pressing on the brake pedal before you change from one gear to the other.
