How many times should you change your ATF? It used to be that you need to change it 3 times while you would drive between the changes in order to sufficiently dilute the ATF because 1/3 would be left in the torque converter.

Any thoughts ?

That is correct. You would need about 10 quarts maybe, depending on the model and year. Change it once, driver a couple of miles, change it again, driver a couple miles, change it again, drive a couple miles.....you get the idea.
I would change the Automatic Transmission Fluid in my Honda evey other oil change but that's just me because I get my fluid for free because I work as a tech at a Honda Dealer..

If you are planning on keeping the car for a long time I would advise you to change the ATF every 15,000 miles. That is half of what Honda usually recommends, before they went to the electronic maintenance minder system. If you do it every 15,000 miles from the beginning of the car...you won't even need to flush the fluid with 10 quarts. One of the biggest problems with the Honda Automatics Transmission's is that the fluid filter is internal to the transmission case and cannot be changed at the regular fluid changes and eventually all the clutch material from the friction disc's wear off and clog up the filter...

Does the 2007 have a drain plug? I'ts night time and raining (pouring) and can't look now...
