CF can be formed to almost any shape, it's the manufacturer that did not do a good job at mixing and curing the resin. Quality carbon parts are made from dry carbon, and the entire piece is ALL carbon. The crap that you see on the market is made of fiberglass then a layer of either real carbon weave or fake carbon weave is wrapped over it. The real carbon race parts you see on true race cars are either one of a kind or costs thousands compared to the junk on the market. Not only that the carbon is usually dull and does not have a layer of clear resin to that adds weight. I've been working with carbon for quite some time.
One of a kind CF carbon EG side moldings that I made.

Re: (blue2ksi)
Funny you ask that cuz I'm working on something for my Si right now. Something similar to the AJ ones. Also working on a full carbon lip kit. Just time constraints with work.
