Try driving without your radio on...and see if you're getting any rattle....I took the car home from the dealer with just 40+ miles on the OD, and the noise was there already. I then questioned myself, why did I ever traded in the Mini...

Re: (cinq)
Bottom line is, a Civic is not a Mini. Mini is owned by BMW so you'd expect a much more refined car than a Honda. Although the Si is the high end model of the Civic, it is still just a compact car. If you want a more refined Si, get an RSX lol. Try driving a Cobalt SS, SRT-4, STi, Evo, or an Ion, and you appreciate just how quiet the Si is.

Re: (gsrroger)
Don't freak out. The car is nice and pretty quick. I've had many VWs before (GTIs and Jettas). The Honda is a great car. I would say though that the Accord was a much more solid car than the Civic. The Si is quick and handles great. It's tough to go slow with that sweet exhaust sound and Vtec kick at 6K RPMs. I wish Honda had set it up so the Vtec would kick in around 5K instead of 6K. By the time you're in the 7's the red light comes on in the dash warning you that you're about to reach the rev cutter. Which I have done a number of times .
I do have the creak/squeak on the front windshield like cinq and it is a pain. I did some research on Edmunds and noticed that people have compaints about squeaks. Keep an eye and see how it goes for you. You might never get it. I hope you don't. I had a windshield/dash squeak with the Accord I had and fixed it by sticking a piece of rubber between the two. Near the Vin number area. This squeak though is weird. I actually pushed against the windshield around the center area of the car last night and could hear the squeak. I did that from the inside and outside of the car. Cinq, try doing that to your windshield and let us know what happens. I could see the windshield move. Kinda weird. I will definitely have the dealer look at this closely. Might have them replace the windshield.
Anyway, sorry for the long response and again. Don't worry. You got a great little car that's fuel effiecient, reliable and quick.

Re: (fuhok)
I didn't freak out. I am just saying. You can't complain about the si for the price. Fully loaded and very good build quality, considering that of the others in its class.

I do agree with you for sure. I'm leasing mine. It's an '07 Fiji Blue without Navi.
I got for just under 21K. It's a great car. Fun to drive. I've got to tell you. My rev needle sees the 8K area frequently .
I don't really have the 3rd gear grind that people have been talking about here but I do have the squeak/creaking noise from the front windshield area. Near where it meets the dash.
My noise is just to the right of the speedometer. I pushed up against the windshield and could hear the squeak. Then I went outside and pushed down on the windshield. Heard it then also. That's what I will point out to the dealer when I go in for my 10K mile oil change. I will demand that they change the windshield. That's a safety hazard for sure. On top of the annoying noise. I hate creaks and squeaks. Anyway you got a great car. You really do. Out of all the Jap makers I put Honda on top. I had an '05 Accord EX-V6, slightly lowered with H&R springs and H&R 20mm wheel spacers. Had a strut brace and a oversized rear sway bar. The car handled great. I do regret swapping it for the Civic but it didn't have the fun factor that the Si has. This thing is nuts when you push it. You'll love it once you have it broken in and begin pushing it.

Honda and Acura took a 1-2 podium finish for reliability last year.

Re: Bought an '08 Si sedan (cinq)
Well Cinq this crap is getting worse now.
I have the windshield noise which has gotten super annoying along with a squeak on the driver door panel. Upper left area near the window. Once I put my elbow up against it and press the squeak stops.
I also have wind noise from the right front door. Noticed it on the highway today going around 70mph. Extremely annoying. Wind noise? What the hell?
The Si I have is built in Canada. Got it last July. I'm so pissed now that I traded my '05 Accord EX-V6. Stupid move.
There so many noises now in the car now. I'm sure I can fix the panel noise but the right door wind noise sucks. I'm sure it's the weatherstriping. I had a similar problem with the Accord which I got a service bulleting off the web and showed it to the dealer and they fixed it.
I got 1K miles to go for the 10K mile oil change. The dealer will hear about all this crap. I will get in touch with Honda directly and tell them about the quality of this car. It's horrible. I'll keep you posted with what the dealer says with the issues I have. I wonder if anyone else has wind noise issues with the doors.

Depends on the car you get. Some of their models are really good. Others aren't as good....and they bring the whole average down.
Toyota took a big hit in their overall reliability because of their V6 Camry and 4X4 Tundras....two big sellers for them.

Re: (CH-47CREWCHIEF)
For the folks that have problems with there car I would really suggest taking it to a honda dealer to have them take care of the problem regardless. I know we have less faith in them dealers but thats why they are there and most likely they will come through or else you could call honda directly. If you do not have hondas customer care number I would ask it from your Service manager. I am really dissapointed specifically on the Front and rear windshield problems and It is in fact a safety hazzard. Plus that can cause a leak from the rain and worsen the problem by getting carpet wet and or electrical getting wet. I know I have seen that happen.I work for a dealer but not honda. Goodluck fellas!
On a side note I envy how you new gen civic Si's can get major results on such minor bolt ons. on My 99Si It hink I paid over 4g's to get 30whps
