2oo8 Honda Civic DX steel rim size.
New to the forum, first post.
I need help with proper steel rims size for 2008 Honda Civic DX.
I ordered Bridgestone Blizzak WS-70 195/65R15 winter tires at Costco and asked them to put the tires on steel rims when received. In the remarks I noticed "Rims X42554". Googling this number gives me multifit lug centric rim. X42552 shows better fit as hub centric rim, but unavailable at Costco.
What is the proper size and part number steel rim for this car. Costco sells the rims at excellent price. Can I stick with aftermarket or should I go for OEM. Price matters, but safety is number one concern. I would prefer hub centric rims. If I stick with X42554 do I have to use different lug nuts. Any help would be appreciated.
From my research rim sizes quoted are:
X42554 5-114.3 72 ET 38.5
X42552 5-114.3 64.1 ET 45

From the part number you've listed at the end of your post, the 2nd number seems more ideal as the 64.1 is the hub size for the car.
As for lug nuts, using your existing lugs should suffice. Since you're rolling on steel wheels again (just like your OEM wheels) they should have the same seating for the wheel lugs and fit properly.

Re: 2oo8 Honda Civic DX steel rim size.
randomtask77, thanks for clarification. Finally I picked-up steel rims from local Honda dealer. 42700-SNE-A01 15x6J. They had them on special so it was cheaper then aftermarket X42552. The Costco X42554 rims are multifit lug centric, excellent price, but you get what you pay for. Somehow I don't feel comfortable having the lugs not the hubs hold the weight of my car on the wheels.
