2012 CIVIC COUPE
Spy Photos: 2012 Honda Civic Coupe
We've been seeing a lot of the 2012 Honda Civic lately. We've seen the 2012 Civic four-door hatch bound for foreign markets, and the big-in-the-USA 2012 Civic Sedan. And now we have the unavoidable 2012 Honda Civic Coupe. As you can see, the kinked C-pillar treatment from the sedan carries over as does the strong beltline.
What we get more of (after the jump) is the new, more upright and angular face of the 2012 Civic Coupe and a look at some production-spec wheels rolling on Michelin Pilot Hx MxM4 tires. For those of you paying close enough attention, those are the stock tires available for the 2010 Honda Civic Si. So while we're not going out on that limb... But, big wheels, correct tires, more prominent nose and rear disc brakes. We very well could be looking at the 2012 Honda Civic Si.
No word on powertrain options, but as this car remained small for fuel economy reasons, expecting a HP boost could lead to disappointment.

Temple of VTEC Rumors and News - Spied on the Street! 2012 Civic Si COUPE!
hese were sent with the same caption as the preceding sets of sedan pics, but Brenda was aware that this was an Si seen in these shots. She just sent out the following updated caption.
UPDATED CAPTION: '12 Civic Coupe Si SPIED!!
We've been shooting regular Honda Civic prototypes for the last several days, but today, we've got HOT version -- the Si Coupe!
One look at the larger, sportier wheels, chrome exhaust tip and the honey-comb grill inserts are enough to tell us this is the Si model! Fortunately, we also got a peek inside and can see sport seats featuring large bolsters, red stitching and a piece of tape over the "Si" on the seat back! We think a spoiler is the only part not yet on this Si prototype.
Originally, the 9th gen Civic was set to debut in the Summer of 2010 as a 2011 model, but once CAFE regulations changed and the auto industry hit hard times in 2009, Honda had to rethink things. Rumors stated Honda originally wanted to make the Civic larger, but as you can see from the photos, the overall size of the 2012 Civic will remain largely unchanged.
While the camouflage is pretty heavy, we can see peeks at a new grille and headlights. The front end looks more upright overall as well. The doors also have some fresh character lines.
While the current Civic has a 1.8L 4-cylinder, rumors are floating around that the base motor may get bumped to 2.0L. No rumors yet on what might be lurking under the Si's hood. Stay tuned..
Actually, there was a rumor that Honda was stuffing a K24 under the hood of the Si, but we've heard no further confirmation on that one.

Re: 2012 CIVIC COUPE
k24 engine O.o 2.5L for si model perhaps? More torque would be nice
hmmm it has the sedan style rear view mirrors where its mounted to the door instead of in front of the window...just an observation.

The black on black look is yummy. The rest of the car is meh.
Needs wider wheels/tires!
I'm bettin this car is gonna be 50-100lbs. heavier with maybe a 5hp jump. Prove me wrong Honda!

Re: 2012 CIVIC COUPE
i would have a new love for honda if they gave the usa our second R.
i say these are the best honda's, i mean just the name type r is badass to say
why must the usa get screwed out of soo many badass jdm cars?
i mean come on, how hard could it be to add a catalytic converter, and a few beams? or to down tune our cars a tiny bit
but to get back on the subject, the headlights do remind me a bit of the jdm ctr headlights
