2006 civic ac working intermittently
196k miles on this one-owner. Serpentine belt not replaced yet. Just oil changes and brake pads and tires. AC only cooling intermittently today. Any ideas?

More info? When it does cool, is it cooling effectively? If so, it could be that the AC clutch isn't kicking on as often as it should. Usually the system won't turn on the compressor if it detects abnormally high pressure in the high side. One possibility is that your expansion valve is restricting more but still somewhat operating, and so the system will cool but then shut off as the pressure gets too high, and not switch on again until that pressure slowly bleeds off through the expansion valve. Or you could simply have intermittent operation in your AC clutch. In any case, AC work takes special equipment, so it probably won't be a DIY deal.

Could also be relay or low on charge. We need more info. Humidity and temperature thru the day makes a big difference
