09 civic si starter problem.
Hi, I just replace my civic si starter with a new one but it still Won't start. When I try to start the car the starter just make this zine noise. It sound like the starter is not
engaging the fly wheel. Also did Test the new starter at the store and it still good. Could it be a bad starter that doesn't wont to engage when install or bad wires or the flywheel? Btw could still push start the car. Thank.

Starter pinion not meshing with the flywheel? Nit the right diameter pinion? Too many questions to throw in here.
Did you buy the starter from Honda?

It a remanufactured starter. I have fix a few cars with remanufactured starter before and they all start up on the first try. But this one sit there and make this zine noise only.

possible defect, pretty sure its impossible to hook the wires up wrong on a honda starter. these have the sort of bendix drive, right? where inertia flings the gear out?
maybe the starter is spinning backwards due to a wiring defect.

Didn't test the old starter but brought the old and new starter in to test and the store say both starter work find. Both spring out when testing but the new one definitely spin alot stronger.
