Default 06 civic si vs. used RSX type-s

This will be my first honda and I am totally leaning toward ordering an 06 civic si from my local dealer. However I have been obsessed with acura RSX type s' since 2003. Dont get me wrong I love hondas and I have always liked hondas but I want a new clean car and I havent had the money to get something new untill now and I want the best. I know all the specs and differences between the models and have driven all years of RSX type-s'. if anyone has driven or ownes a new si and can tell me how it matches up Id love to know.

I test drove both of them and I must say the Si is a better car, not only is it faster but it had LSD... so you wont have to worry about ******* up your motor, and it has newer better technology...

Test drive them both and ask questions, they will basicly tell you everything I have just said.

Honda Civic Si yo

yeah the Si weighs 30lbs more than the RSX-S, it has less hp 197 vs. 210 and yet somehow its faster. LOL, what a dumbass.

Also its got LSD so it will not blow up the motor? LOOL, damn i swear some girls know more about cars than a lot of these newb guys.

the si is made in canada, the engine is made in the usa and it uses the old 02-04 rsx cams so it won't make gain power like the 05-06 rsx-s which uses type r cams.

the 05-06 rsx is made in japan, and it has a whole bunch of type r parts. people are running like 13.6 with i/h/e/hondata, something the new si will never do.

you mean 1 Si ran 14.2.... Thats with an awsome driver... Ive also seen people running 15.2, so what does that prove? Nothing. Both cars are fast, its a drivers race between the 2... This has been covered too many times... Let it go already...

gg.. i was tryin to point out the fact that the 13.6 with i/h/e/hondata is usually not achieved with everyone..

edit: op, juss get the si so you dont have to make a new SN, laziness ftw

quit your b*tching people...
truth of the matter is that the rsx-s has more power and doesn't really look that good
and the si has beter handling...
after all we're comparing a civic with an acura...

Well it looks like u already have ur mind set on the new Si according to ur username jk
My best advice is this
both rsx and si are basically equal cars both can be fast with mods its a matter of u wanting an acura or honda and looks ofcourse ill be honest i like my bro's 06 si lsd kicks *** so does the rsx i like it also, it looks nice and its as quick as the si or if not quicker basically comes down to what car u like more
ps i raced my bro's 06 si and my friend's 05 rsx-s in my 04 s2000 same outcome thats why i say both are equal flame me all u want guy's

You mean that Si that had an exhaust a weight reduction? When does exhaust + weight reduction considered stock. I guess minor mods are considered stock now eh? Okay a stock RSX-S on clubrsx ran 13.8 with CAI and reflash, go search, something the Si WOULD NEVER DO. lol. idiots i swear, are people really this dumb in real life?

Its funny too cause that guy that ran 14.2 with exhaust + weight reduction, added a CAI and DCRH and still ran the same time, mods = does **** on the Si. lol.

Until I see more Si hitting 14.2 .. you people gotta stop using that as reference lol ...

btw I dont get your (quote) Dont get me wrong I love hondas and I have always liked hondas but I want a new clean car(quote)

and destiny ... I HAVE NO IDEA where you came up w/ the LSD comment lol

btw I vote rsx-s (one of the big reason is the FUckEN steering wheel)

all I meant by that was I wanted a new car not an old used up honda with like 150k on it I like new cars and im trying to save for an s2000 and a cbr1000 so I figured a good daily driver was a civic si or an rsx type s im going with the honda I like the seats better and the price better its not worth the extra $4500 for leather and a 6disc changer plus you never know how finding a new rsx in a couple of months will be considering acura axed them off the new car line in 07

thanks again for your votes

You basically need to just test drive both and make your own decision. Don't decide based on what everyone else says...Get what you like. Yes i'm sure the acura has its perks but if you like the si get it, I doubt you're going to be disappointed either way. Good luck.

Don't you love it when people talk **** to others telling them how little they know just to turn around and spew uninformed bullshit?

DC5Gurl, try again.

And just because the new 05-06 RSX-S has Type R cams doesn't make it a better car. It's really too bad for you guys you got to miss out the JDM DC5R LSD. It's more of TSX engine than it is a RSX-S. Newer technology in a better car. Don't be mad because Acura canned your ***.

And for the record, a Si with i/h/e and a more developed version of Hondata will be faster than any RSX will be.

Hehe, too bad I don't DRIVE an RSX. I drive an 06 TSX, my b/f is the one with the RSX-S.

Wow lol, a more developed version of Hondata will make the Si more faster than the RSX-S huh? Please explain, the Si uses 02-04 RSX cams, it has a smaller throttle body, it has engine balancers that zaps power and weighs more. So how the hell is it gonna be faster moron?

yeah the 05-06 RSX-S does miss out on an LSD, but then the new Si is missing out on a cable throttle system, thus meaning they are missing out on KPRO. And if you know anything about the K-series, KPRO is what makes or break the K20. Its the base that is needed for everything from Cams, Supercharging, turbocharging ect.

Yes the Si does handle better, but the RSX-S is and will always be faster. Just deal with it. They both have their pros and cons. The RSX-S is a lot more refined and upscale, you bring it into service and you get to pimp a TSX or TL for the day. You bring your Si in for service and you get a Neon from Enterprise, if that.

RSX-S also has a better warranty, better service and in most people's opinion looks a hell of a lot better. You also get leather and a much better looking interior. Also it is an ACURA, Take off that ugly wing off the Si and it looks EXACTLY like a 14k Civic DX Coupe that I see grandmas driving around in.

Contrary to what you believe, newer isn't always better. The Si has to comply with ever changing emmisions regulations, thats whey Honda had to switch to a MAF system, which Hondata can't get around. The MAF system is so sensitive, its so finicky with mods, you throw on an AEM CAI and it studders, stalls and hesitates. You completely take off the intake off the RSX-S and it will run perfectly! Hondata can't even crack the new fuel maps off the new Si. There certainly won't ever be KPRO for the Si, so you guys are stuck in the 14s with i/h/e and a half *** reflashed forever. lol.

Yeah you can turbo the car, but you will have to run some shitty fuel managment system like greddy's Emanage or JR's powercard. You will never ever see good reliable power with piggybacks.

MY vote would be for a RSX-S. You can pick up a great condition 02-04 for under $15k and throw in a LSD (Quaiffe!!) for prolly $1000-1200 max. Heck, you can pick up a 05-06 for $18k, throw in the LSD and still be cheaper than a new Si. And that would take away from the Si's performance advantage. Style is opinion, I like the looks, inside and out, of RSX's(Integras) over Civics. Good luck

In the exterior style dept. the RSX wins hands down. But if your going to race it I would go for the SI. Sucks that this is the last year for the RSX. Damn fast looking car!!
