wtf is this!? tranny fluid mixed with antifreeze...?
So I noticed I was having some hard shifts lately in the notoriously crappy 03 tranny... anyways I figured it was just my tranny going(at 130k, its an auto btw) but I noticed some weird looking tranny fluid on the ground right before leaving today. I notice it's a little low and pour a quart in and check it out when I get back since I was already running late and find some of this stuff in my overflow tank... upon further inspection this is what I find:
seriously... how does that even happen!?
I was also wondering if instead of just replacing the whole radiator... if i'd be able to get away with just flushing both my tranny and radiator(tranny by doing drain/fill a few times) and just having the tranny solely using my external tranny cooler I mounted. I figured it'd probably cool about as efficiently as just my radiator did.
Plan on selling my car in the next couple weeks.. but seriously would not feel right selling it with something like this

People looking to buy a dependable used car aren't going to want one that's been jerry-rigged. It'd be best to replace the part, then thoroughly flush the transmission, the cooling lines / cooler, as well as the cooling system for the engine. (by that I mean running the engine until it reaches operating temperature in order to circulate the coolant throughout the engine and cooling system, hopefully removing any and all ATF in the process)
It's easier than explaining why you had to jerry-rig the ATF cooler due to the radiator failing, resulting in mixing the ATF and coolant together. That would only chase potential buyers away.
