Windshield Wiper Malfunctioning Issue

Windshield Wiper Malfunctioning Issue
Hey folks, so today while I was driving in the rain, I noticed the windshield wipers pausing halfway in the sweep for about 2-5 sec. and then resuming when coming up for the sweep in the INT Mode. I can hear a relay click just as the wipers stop halfway and then several seconds later I hear a click again with wipers resuming their action. Note: This is only happening as the wipers come up for the sweep. And is only happening in the INT Mode; the Low and High setting are completely fine.
Do any of you have experience with this sort a thing?
I've searched some but none is for the 7th gens nor are there any real solutions.
I'm leaning towards the Switch or the Motor, but I've read that people replace switch with no fix, OTH the motor works fine at LOW and High setting.
I really appreciate all your help.
BTW, car's a 04 LX/Base Sedan, completely stock.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Windshield Wiper Malfunctioning Issue
Thanks for posting that up, now I know I gotta change the wiper motor and can start saving up for it, don't have to waste time diag-Nosing.
BTW, if anyone else has this problem,
it is getting worse as time goes by, now in the INT mode it acts as if it is in LOW mode. And also when you turn wipers off they stop in any position.
I'm going to wait till the wiper motor dies before I replace it. No point getting a used one because it will just happen again. Especially in my area where wipers are used almost heavily for 10 months of the year

Re: Windshield Wiper Malfunctioning Issue
it's not the motor that's failing, its the control board. open it up and look for broken/dry solder joints or leaked out capacitors. fix and/or replace the bad bits and you'll be back to working wipers for free. i had this prob on my astro van, fixed it free.
EDIT: oh yeah i should mention the control board is internal to the wiper motor, which is why the problems go away after you replace the motor.
