Default thud noises in tein suspension and rubber and more help!

Alright so I replaced my break pads with new ones. Not that it was old but I just wanted to change and I came across a few things I need help I don't understand.

I raised my front about 3 notches or 3 lines up. Now the spring is nice and snug. hoping it wouldn't have the spring rattle noise over bumps. Still does and when I turn you heard it go thud thud. if i lock the steering wheel. When i drop the notches all the way down I don't get this and also the spring still rattles in the same instances.

First one is the rubber on my tein suspension is teared. Is this bad or what is it?

Second it can move up now and the yellow piece is movable. is this bad or what is it?

Finally my rotors are new and this is the first time changing pads. The wierd part about it is it did not wear down evenly.

well i think its a bad thing cuz now more dirt and other things can get under their and ruin the shock. and the yellow thing is the bushing that helps soften the feeling when u bottom out.

Yeah, the boots help keep dirt and road grime away from the shock internals. Are the springs seated correctly? EM2's can have a problem with this and correct indexing (the tophat being aligned correctly). Look at the top of the strut mount for a small triangle, and there will be one on the spring seat - these need to be lined up. I think there is a DIY on 7thgencivic or whatever it's called these days.

The pads wearing unevenly isn't particularly uncommon - it might be worth checking whether the piston in the caliper is totlally free. Maybe try cleaning the area around it where it comes out of the caliper (being careful not to let it come out fully) and working it in and out a few times to make sure you are getting even pressure on the pad front-to-back, although i doubt that would be the case as the pressure that the braking system applies should be enough to ensure this anyway.

I'm not 100% sure of how to check if the springs are seated correctly. They look fine. Well my old pads didn't have anti break grease. Does that cause damage? I put anti break grease on the new pads and installed. I also used break cleaner and cleaned up the area a bit. I'm gonna do a little search for the DIY you say. If you find it post it for me ya.

Thanks for that info, it was useful. I hope I never bottom out lol.

edit: on coilovers are the springs suppose to rattle? is that normal?

Well I found this for the popping noise.

http://www.civicforums.com/for....html

Don't know if it applies to tein coilovers. didn't read anything on that...

I believe it applies no matter what you are using, depending on your top mounts.

Are your springs rattling with the car on the floor?

Make sure that top gold nut on the Teins is tight. You have to hold the shock to keep it from turning while someone cranks on that nut up top.

Not sure why, but Tein does not tighten it from the factory, and that's where the noise comes from.

i would drive over but knowing my gf she'd freak out. Also too busy to drive 5 hours although another person who knows his stuff would be of great assistance.

Anyways anyone in cali near pasadena wanna give another HT a helping hand pm me.

Ya the shop was bs. I went back 4 times and they couldn't get it right. They kept giving excuses that's the way it is. bs.

maybe i'll get a fax number of a fedex near by and have it faxed there.

oh btw i hear calipers with more than 1 piston create a more even wear. is that true?
