....a story i thought i would share with you guys
so i have heard about everybody getting 400+ mpg's to a tank
....i read somewhere that we have a 13.2 gallon tank...
i average about 32 mpg's reg drving ...mix of highway and city
so i was going to try to get to 400miles and then go fill up..just to say i did (i was driving conservativley the whole time ...nothin above 3k)
so i took my girl to the movies ..gas light on for about 3 days now ...when i turn off the car it was at 398.1mi ...after the movie i came out and MY CAR WOULDNT CRANK ...i was so sad....
so i pushed it to a gas station (across the street) and i filled it all the way up....11.8gallons <- WTF?!?!?

i highly doubt you can get to 400+ miles from driving a mix of highway/city. you might need to drive all highway to get 400+. btw, i average about 36mpg with mostly highway and the best i got was 38mpg.

i did 437.8 miles on one tank, going from VA to SC and back. i have pics on my cell phone, but they are blurry. i'll try and post them later.
i had 437 miles before the light went on, i didn't want to be stuck out on the hwy in 30 degree weather in the middle of no where, or i would've tried to get to 450...
so yes, it's possible on all hwy driving, not sure about hwy/city combination.

I had an AEM SRI on my 05 Lx and switched back to the oem intake, and I've noticed my MPG has dropped slightly. I seem to be getting about 15-20 miles less, per tank, with the oem intake.
Surprised the crap out of me.

only way for autos to get over 400+ per tank is not to go above 60mph... at 70, my rpm is at a steady 3k. stupid 4 speed... but anyways, i got it by not hitting 3k for 3 weeks when i got 455 miles. the light came on right after.

Lets see how far below the E we can go!!!!!!!!
Ok, first of all, you're trusting the meter in the pump to be dead on, it probably isnt. Second, the volume of gasoline changes with temperature, the meter is measuring flow, so if its real cold or real hot the reading is a bit off, which is why people say to buy gas at night in the summer, you'll get a little more for your dollar. Third, the gas tank seems to have a low spot in it, because I've found that I can shut the gas light off after it comes on by driving up or down a hill.
The car not cranking with low gas is pretty common, thats a known problem, I'm not sure if honda or anyone else ever solved the issue.

My last tank was about 360 miles with all local driving. I bet if it was all highway at conservative speeds I would probably hit 400 miles easy. My tire size is a bit oversize so the odometer will read below actual.
