I think its awesome you guys are trying to give me suggestions in keeping the jeep even though your all honda guys. We'll see how it goes. Honestly I just want to start saving money in general for my life. I'm gonna eventually gonna need to buy all my tools probably for when I get a job so I need to start saving up some real money. I'm trying to get more than just an extra 50 bucks a month. I'm not really looking for a modded civic I'm just looking for one in general. If its bone stock that would be perfect. It's just every bone stock one I see has some sort of problem that needs something major fixed.

And the only reason I'm picking a civic is because I know their cheap to fix and fairly simple to work on. A lot like my jeep.

Yeah I'm ready to just get something different too. I love my jeep a lot and I know a lot about offroading now. But now I want to learn more about the speed side of the auto industry. As I said if i could just keep the jeep and get a car I would but I'll just get another jeep in the future and build it better than this one.

One thing i watched out for when looking for a car were body part fitments. You can tell if someone has had the car apart by looking at the front and rear bumper, dust covers, wheel wells etc. Looking at the 2002 civic, the front bumper looks to be sagging, either was hit, or taken off and never put back on right. More then likely it's sagging because of a car accident. Could be the pic, looks saggy to me though, also looks beaten.

2002 car with rust is a no go for any price for me. It has rust more then likely do to neglect. I agree with everyone else to, airbags probable deployed. If he came down to 2k it might be worth it.
Pay the extra 500-1000 and get a car that is in better shape and fewer problems. The more stock it is more then likely the less wear it has had. Also chat with the owner, get a feel for him. If he/she is acting suspicious, just do yourself a favor and walk away. People lie to sell a car, if you think there lying, they probable are.

Oh I've been talking with him. He seems alright. I just think I'm gonna pass up the 02 and go for that 92. Less miles is definitely a plus. It's just farther away from me.

i assume with the 92 when the seller says "honda cancer" he means rust? cause if so i would def not go with that car. also 205 on the body is a lot even if the engine has lower miles. the body has some pretty important components attached to it lol... like the shock absorber assembly for example... i can speak on how much it sucks when your struts are blown and your springs are old... and it sucks a lot

Oh if I go check that 92 out I'm gonna check it good. And the rust is what he means. But in all honesty it's hard as hell to find a honda of that age without that rust in this area. Actually any car at that. Plus it says its a small area. I'm going to Wyotech so I could easily get it into the collision class and they could fix it for me.

And in all seriousness with the body having that much on it I very highly doubt that those components have gone that long without being replaced.

well even if wear items like the shocks and springs go bad, if you replace them yourself, it won't cost much to replace..

You won't want to work on a car that is rusty as hell though, trust me been there lol. If you want a beater, i would just go with a cheap whatever you can, spend around 500-800. But know it won't last that long, and don't pour cash into it.
If you want a civic get something without rust or MAJOR body damage. I got a 01 with 180k for 3500. It was maintained decent, major things were in good shape clutch engine etc. The deals are out there, you just have to find them.
Buying a car just because you want/need one fast is a bad idea. Playing the waiting game you will end up saving more money in the long run.
You could buy a "ok" car now or buy a good car a month from now for the same or slightly more.
