P0135 after engine swap
Hi Honda-tech. I am in desperate need of help. I currently own a 2001 honda civic coupe lx. The motor was blown and I had an 04 motor dropped in. I have the check engine light on. The error code is P0135. I have replaced the O2 sensor. I heard that the 04-05 civic engines use an air fuel ratio sensor. What sensor should I use? O2 sensor or the air/fuel sensor? I do not want to purchase the wrong sensor and be stuck with the wrong one.

Re: HELP
the 01 used a narrow band sensor the 04 uses a wide band sensor only use DENSO or NTK drop in not universal. expect to pay $150-$250 dollars denso is usually alot cheaper.

Re: P0135 after engine swap
hey skitzo7170 I'm in a similar situation as you except, my motor blew on my
2005 Honda civic lx and had my engine replaced with a 2003 Honda civic lx engine, now I have the p0135 (bank 1 sensor 1) engine code and cant pass nys inspection or register the car till I clear this code causing the check engine light.
were you able to figure out a fix to your problem?
so far ive tried replacing the upper oxygen sensor with a 2003 ngk oxygen sensor, the code came right back after starting the car, then I put in a 2005 denso wideband air fuel sensor code came right back after start up, ive changed the cat/exhaust manifold ($300) walker, I did a fresh oil change, new air filter, new spark plugs, fuel injector cleaner, crc G2P smog treatment, nothing is working... the car has the 2005 lx ecu, it also runs great the only problem is that 1 code/cel
what do you guys think the problem is, I'm stuck... I appreciate any input

Re: P0135 after engine swap
which would be the correct oxygen sensor to use being the engine is from a 2003 honda civic lx, but the car is a 2005 lx, i have the 2005 ecu hooked up in thw car
