Default OEM Fogs

Hello.

I would like to install the OEM fog lights but there is no place to install the switch. I have a 2004 ex with the ashtray and cigarette lighter. Has anyone here found a work around?

I've heard of people pushing the CC button in and putting it up in the dash. Then putting the fog button in it's place. The only drawback is that the CC is on all the time.

^^ I've always liked that. I've been lazy about wiring one up, though. Not a top priority, but I'll get around to it.

Part #35255-S5K-F12
Can be found here if you're wanting to go that route.

You can always remove that panel and replace it with one that has the (plugged) button slots instead of an ashtray. It would be a lot easier.

Wow I like the idea of using a the Fit's fog light switch!
Rigging my own wiring would make me a little nervous though.

Thanks for the ideas guys

To the OP: If you decide to go that route I'll trade you straight-up, my panel for yours (mine's 6 months old).

Thank-you for the offer but I like using the ashtray as an extra storage compartment. I think I might run with the Fit fog light switch idea.

Soon as I learn how to solder.

You should have 2 open slots by the cigarette lighter, you can get an OEM switch that goes there.

He doesn't have that piece, his has an ashtray instead of those slots, as he mentioned in the very-first post.

I have a 2004 ex with the ashtray and cigarette lighter.
Can't have button slots and an ashtray in the same spot.

I could not find a picture on Google for a 04-05 ash and lighter. I snapped these so you can see what I'm referring to.

H-T not allowing me to insert pics yet.

Go to a junkyard to get that center panel (it shouldn't be a problem)or take that other offer and switch out the ashtray/lighter for the 2 slotted panel. You'll have extra storage anyhow with the under radio, glove box, and your right underarm middle storage console anyhow. Oem fogs will make your car look better and worth more on resell later on.(it's an $800 dealer option that you can do yourself for $200). Most people don't want the ashtray option in their cars now anyhow. I had the same problem you're having (2005 EX-L coupe with the mirror, cruise, and sunroof switches to the left of the steering wheel). I had to install my Oem fog switch in the middle console panel that you need to get(above the cup holder). It was super easy and the OEm fog install instructions you can download off of handaaccesories.com and cheap oem fogs you can get from there will help you. Just my two cents.... Good luck.

You should be able to post pictures using the [IMG] code.

Also, I stumbled across this and, as seen in the picture, it has a foglight switch under the cigarette lighter. I'm sure a cruise control switch would fit where that foglight switch is.
Options, options, options.

I wish that would work. Unfortunately, that one only works with the 01-03 interior consoles.

My bad. Although, I'm sure you noticed the disclaimer "may be discontinued".

I bought a fog light kit that said it was for 2001 and 2002 civics. The P/N is 08V31-S5P-100A, when I looked that up 2002 comes up. Now unfortunately the 5-pin connector looks like this,

and my switch P/N 08V31-S5P-110G looks like this

Now I have a 2001 ex coupe, which I think makes things a bit complicated. I have no room to the left of my steering wheel so I need it to go by my accessory socket. The switch I have now fits perfectly there. Will the 08V31-S5P-120C switch fit there?

You really should have started your own thread as opposed to reviving this old one.

I'm a bit confused by your question to begin with. Did the fog light kit you ordered not come with a switch in the kit?
