No electrical power to the car
OKay. So I have a 01' Civic EX manual 2 doors and i replaced the timing belt on it. I have replaced it before with no problem but found out I need a new tensioner because the spring broke off of it and loosen the belt. After completing everything, I go to start my car and found out that there is no power to my car. Took battery in and checked it and they say it was at 90% and still good. Okay? So i took the alternator in to autozone to have it checked and they say it was a bad alternator. I went ahead and bought a new one and replaced it and still no power. I'm guessing I have short somewhere. Before I started fixing the timing belt, I was taking off the alternator and forgot to undo the negative cable to the battery and it caused a spark with the alternator. That was what I guess caused the short somewhere. I am thinking that i have a bad ignition switch but would a ignition switch cause everything to die in the car. When I put the keys in it doesn't make any noise or anything. No lights. NOthing. I used a multimeter to check some fuses and stuff but cannot seem to find the right place for the short. I checked the fuse for the battery, the 80 fuse, on both sides. The right sides reads 12v and the left sides reads 0v. Could that be the cause of my electrical power issue? please help.

Re: No electrical power to the car
have your main relay under your dash examined.and if that one is ok,there is another one in the engine compartment fuse box.if it looks anything like mine in my integra, its one of the bigger ones and its the black cased one..i blew that one hooking a battery up wrong..could be relevant..just a guess..
