the project is gonna be on hold on for awhile. did my taxes and instead of using it for my new k20 engine, i have to get a new car. the tranny on the teg is dead. it wont go into 1st, 3rd or 5th. no grinding or noises. just simply wont go into those gears so im going to some dealerships to get a new dd and since ill have car payments on that, thats taking the xtra 400 i had every month for the civic, its going towards the car payment. =(

Why not just get a new transmission for the Teg? Screw a car payment for a daily.

I know how you feel. I started building my 2002 civic lx up. Definetly not on the same level as you, but i was enjoying it. Then her car died. So now we got a 2007 civic hybrid for her. That eats up most of my money. So my 2002 LX is now on hold as well. Good luck. I look forward to future info on your build and new car.

im not paying for a tranny for a 89 teg then labor on the tranny. *** that. the car isnt worth it. im not doing a tranny swap. thats very hard without a lift. ive been having problems with that car right and left lately and i cant deal wit it anymore.

ok just got back from the mazda dealership and got the last 08 model. the mazda3 5dr hatch black in automatic. i love it. its practically for dd and cheap on gas and matience. heres a generic pic. ill take pics tommorrow. they bought the car for 18,800. i got it for 15,900 out the door. i kept haggling the guy and the finance guy said, boy your a good negotiator. i almost dont wanna do the deal. lol :lol: i said well im making u work for ur $$$$.

you say what mods will go on? nothing. tint and thats it. i want it for the simple reason. get in and go. no worries. get my groceries and go home. lol the civic will just hiberate in my garage for awhile.

thanks paul and adams. ill still work on the car to get it ready for paint whenever that is but just not any money going into it at the moment. gotta take care of the important things in life first.

nahhh. im a jdm honda fanboy at heart. lmao all my projects will be hondas. just need a dd thats simple so i dont mod it. i wanted a fit has a dd but ill wind up putting rims, springs, etc. reason for the mazda3. its not as popular in the modding world like the fit.

Just got done reading this entire build and let me be the millionth person to tell you your car is amazin. I hesitated on the color when I first saw it because it reminded me of that gold that the EM2 comes in rarely, but after seeing it I really like it. Excellent choice on getting the Mazda3 I was thinking that right away about the modding. Best of luck on your em2. How much did the paint job run you with paint and labor?

^^ lol yes the em2 isnt jdm because its not made in japan but ive made it into a jdm looking car. u cant argue that. arc, mugen, volk, etc.

nope. i havent forgotten it. lol i still have it. i just havent done anything to it cuz of $$$ and the economy. i dont wanna dump $$ into it and then next week i have no job. my job is pretty secure but nothing is certain is this day and age. once the economy is back ill start it up again. the mortage and my mazda payment comes first now. gotta take care of the priotires first. the car has to come 2nd. =( heres some of my plans.

nikos k24 motor
polished everything inside the bay (vc, im, alternator, etc)
full wiretuck(abs is gone, fusebox is tucked)
battleship grey paint inside and engine bay
no carpet(gutted baby)
and more.

project is on hold for awhile but not forgotten. the em2 will live again better than ever.

damn man u are inspiring me!! doing minor mods on my em2 now, it's bout to come oujt of the garage for the summer. Nothing compared to yours though, still in my rice phase and having fun with it...loud system and fancy lights but im saving for a tt 370z and sooner an rsx-R so i think i might just stop my em2 project, but wow. i really love the dedication you put into your civic. It's truly one of the most tasteful i've seen. Good luck and keep us updated! wish we had more ppl from Canada up in here *sigh o well i'll just have to move to the states aftr i finish school
