Default How much can I sell wrecked 2003 Civic cpe for?

Hello everyone new to the forum. I have a couple questions. My 2003 Civic EX Coupe with 98,000 miles was in a car accident. Insurance has determined it is a total loss, because it rolled 3 times and there was minor damage to the roof, but the sunroof still works and is not broken. Windshiel and both side mirror broke off from the car rolling. Suspension I dont know, but the rear shocks looks as if they did not break, the front one look like they are broken. The car still starts. Damage was to the passenger door and front bumper but the bumper did not break or crack. The hood, trunk lid, rear glass, steering column, rear bumper is still in good condition. The car was taken care of very well. Interior is still intact, airbags did not deploy, dash did not break, door panels seats front and rear still good as they have seat covers from day one of me buying the car new. Except for a minor detail job the car was in excellent condition.

Now I would like to know how much can I sell it for in this condition? The guy at pick-a-part say they will buy it for $600. A friend said I can get maybe $2000 for it, more if I part it out. I don't have the time to part out a car.

Also the car is completely paid off, no liens.

Should I let the insurance company keep it? Sell it to pick-a-part? Take it back from salvage yard and sell it myself?

If this is in the wrong section plz guide me to the right section.

if your willing to part it out i might be interested in a few parts off it.

as far as selling it as is i say $600 is prolly all you'll get. you'll make alot more parting it out imo. i buy wrecked cars on a fairly regular basis and part them out cuz i have made quite a bit of money at it.

if you guys were closer to me i'd take them both off your hands!

by parting out how much more can I make? I really don't want to have all that stuff all over my yard/house. If I do decide to part out, do the buyers bring their own tools/equipment?

when i part out cars i take them apart and sell the pieces.

the last car i parted out was a wrecked 92 accord turbo and all told ive made the purchase price plus $500 and still have quite a few parts left. i figured the car i paid $500 for had close to $2300 in parts in it. which is a profit of $1800. now mind you i've put quite alot of time into tearing hte car apart but still not a bad payoff

IMO, the buyback and part out is really most useful when you've got a car people want stuff from (like an ITR or RSX-S, etc...) and its worth your while. I would say if the car is a wad, just take the insurance money and run. Its not gonna be worth the hassle to part out a 2003 civic, its not old enough for the parts to be tough finds and they made too many of them for people to shop around from.
