Its all luck of the draw though. I also know people who has had theirs on their cars for 3+ years without issues.
Then don't "slam y0 car mad tight!" and maybe they won't go out on you....mine held up for 4 years being tracked monthly.

get what i'm trying to say?
decide what you want to do with your car. research about it, then research components. and dont count the "tein ftw" as valid results (no offense to you D17alltheway) b/c they dont imply any valid feedback about any component.
and op, many ppl are running different spring rates, heights, and dampers with the ground control setup. if your referring to the sleeve and lock collar itself, id say they are very good quality materials
Well said!

Funny how many actual racers choose the "sleeves and strut inserts" over any of the $1000-1200 "good coilover" setups....

Bottom line is... unless you have $3000+, and want to pick up a set of JRZs, DMSs, or Motons, get yourself a set of Konis and Ground Controls. Period. If you compare a set of custom valved Konis with Ground Controls and whatever spring rates suit your application... to any $2000 coilover setup, the Konis + GCs are gonna come out on top, when it comes to performance.

You wanna "slam" your car... pick up some Megans or the like. You don't need "performance" to tuck tire, because your car is gonna ride like **** anyway.

Just because mine blew out doesn't mean I was "slam y0 car mad tight!" I still had close to 2 finger lengths up front and a finger length in back. On 15in SI rims. That's hardly "slammed". There was no track work at all on my part or abuse. Like I said, I'm not the only one experiencing this issue so just because mine and others had their koni's blow and yours didn't, doesn't mean me nor the others had abused the parts.

On 16'in Advan SA3R's with 225/45/16 Hankook RS-2's on GC/Koni's. Don't go assuming or bash on any other people that you know nothing about. Take you and your e-thugging attitude elsewhere.

I think we can agree that you "and this other member" are in the vast minority, especially considering the amount of people on this forum as a whole who use this setup. If they blow out, send them back to Koni and get them revamped for free. I really see no issue.

Saying they're "not that good" because of two experiences really is a discredit to the 97% of members who have them and have no issues.

Nobody can bat 1.000.

Hmmmm... me assuming huh? Kind of like how you are assuming that Koni makes a subpar damper because you and 3 other people had a poor experience with the seals leaking that Koni will even warranty.

The majority of the failing Konis were due to people lowering the car past Koni's specification. If you weren't in that group, kudos to you... but the results speak for themself. I would rather go through the trouble of getting my shocks rebuilt and have a quality damper on the car, than switch to Tein's lineup.
