exhaust/ muffler question.
k so i have this question, i wanna get my car to sound a bit more aggressive, although i was wondering if just by installing headers will my car's engine make a noticeable rumble or roar if u will. i dont want a riced out noise, i just want a subtle noise emitting from the engine. so my question is, do i achieve a noticeable roar from my car just by installing headers? or do i have to get the entire piping? im not really looking for big power gains btw
thx and i'll appreciate the feedback =]

roar... lawls.
no, no HEADER (since you only have one) will provide you with any noticeable audio tone. I ran a stage I crower cam, megan header, and injen intake and my intake sucking sound got louder. although now that i have a megan testpipe, it does sound really nice at WOT.

my daily is a 02 civic lx and my stock header cracked on me. this is twice now. the first time it was under warranty and it got replaced. warranty is expired so now i wanna go aftermarket but can't seem to find a reputable header. looked on egay and found a megan unit for $200 and other generics that are cheaper but what do you guys recommend or run?

Run a generic. If the car is stock you wont notice a difference sound wise. Plus the header looks better.

I got a hold of a Invidia full exhaust from a rsx. I know the muffler/midpipe needs extension and is a easy fix. I was just wondering if anyone hear as actually done it and how it went. Thanks

2002 Honda Civic DX header/cat. converter question
Please don't flame me. My header is cracked. I'm assuming, because of the weld joints, that I have to replace the whole exhaust manifold and catalytic converter system on my 2002 Honda Civic DX. Right?
Thanks for NOT flaming.

Im about to get a 01 EM2 Lx. Im aware that it doesnt have the E-VTEC and what not, but i was wondering if the exhausts for an EX will fit the LX. Im also aware that the headers are different but i wasnt sure about the exhausts...ive been looking at the Tsudo N1 cat back but i dk if its any good.

Re: The Official Exhaust Thread (Questions, comments, etc.)
Thank you for your help. Also, my last question, and I do appreciate your patience, I'm assuming a DX exhaust manifold/catalytic converter system is interchangable from a 2001 through 2005 Civic, right? Would it be safe to assume the same for a 2001 through 2005 LX? Because I found a used exhaust manifold/catalytic converter system from a 2005 Civic LX for $250 from a junkyard. I have a 2002 Civic DX.

Re: The Official Exhaust Thread (Questions, comments, etc.)
Should be, I don't know about California Emissions differences from years ago, assume all North American manifold/convertors are the same with ULEV status.

Re: The Official Exhaust Thread (Questions, comments, etc.)
I’m posting this for general information. I installed a header/catalytic converter system from a 2001 Honda Civic LX automatic on a 2002 Honda Civic manual and my check engine light didn’t come on after I unhooked the positive cable for 3 minutes and I passed smog. Thanks for your help everyone.
