Default Drum or Disc?

My 05 Civic LX has rear drum brakes. Is it recommended to switch out for rear discs?

Wouldn't it have come with rear disc brakes if it were going to make a significant difference? The front brakes provide the majority of the stopping power. You might consider upgrading your rotors, calipers, and pads. Or just the rotors and pads. Anyway..

Recommended? Meh.

Can it be done? Yes.

What parts will you need?

Unless you plan on tracking your car, it'd be a waste of money.

^This.
You might also want to flush the brake fluid as well.

I suggest upgrading the front rotors and pads or get Bommerman's Big Brake Kit, made the biggest difference in terms of stopping power on stock 15 inch rims. I also converted the drums to disc, labor was costly due to all the work involved.

My brake set up now:
Bommerman's BBK
New front and rear rotors.
EBC Red brake pads front and rear
EP3 rear caliper
RSX-S Centric brake master cylinder
EP3 Proportioning valve
Russel stainless steel brakes lines front and rear
Blue Majic DOT 5 synthetic brake fluid

You don't have to swap out d
For disc brakes in the rear. Discs are better but most of the stopping power comes from the front brakes anyway!
