There's no such thing as a '95 D17. So, its impossible to accurately answer that question.
As for a '95 D-series transmission in general, yes they'll bolt up to the engine... BUT, the gearing won't be correct for the car. I also think there is going to be mounting issues, but I'm not 100% certain on that.
In short, no it won't work properly.

I replaced my 5 speed because of a bad input bearing. I still have the original with a bad input bearing. Let me know if you are interested. They are easy to replace.

anyone know where I could pick up a 5spd transmission? I'd rather spend the money on that then having the shop replace my input shaft bearing

Replace the bearing and get another 150-200,000 km's out of the tranny, or replace the tranny with a used one and get 50,000 before that bearing starts to fail.
your choice

Myself and a Buddy replaced mine, hardest part is taking the tranny out.for the sake of a $25 bearing and Oil Seal and 3 hours labour id rather replace the bearing than the whole tranny.

I bought my tranny off ebay for $250 shipped with new exedy clutch, pressure plate and bearings. I got lucky the seller just wanted to get rid of it.
I just pulled the engine and tranny in one piece. It was a lot easier. Replaced the clutch, press plate, release and pilot bearing, resurface the fw and replace timing belt and rollers.
I have a two-post lift though.

I checked ebay but dang those are expensive still... as for the bearing idk if the area around it will still be good since I've been driving with that issue for a long time like maybe a year or so.
