Default Do they sell fake progress coilovers?

Well I found these on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-05...Q5fAccessories

Cheap price on them. I'm not sure if they're fake or not. Can someone tell?
If they're real I think that's a really good price for Progress coilovers.
Just letting everyone that's interested know.

Those look real, but you never know with ebay. They could be a big wholesaler and got a lot of them which in turn give the low price. I would check the feedback and see if anyone else has bought these..than look at what they said...But for 700.00 that is a great deal. Just remember that 01-02 and 03-05 are differnt

Easy solution would be to send the link to progress and see what they think...

those are real but they are the older setup that progress issued, before they changed the color of thier hardware and springs. i spoke with them personally about those for a friend not that long ago. that seller is an authorized dealer as well and is legit.

im not gona go too low, considering where i live, lots of construction atm, and a few shitty roads here and there, probably a finger gap between tires and fender, we'll see

also, will I need a OEM upper strut bearing, adapter kit ? Honda part number 51726-S5A-004.

been doing a little reading think i might need this?

you dont really NEED the "pillowball" mounts. I have Tein SS-P's currently and prior to this, i had a set of GC/Konis with stock upper mounts.

The only reason to get pillowball mounts is for the following:
*more direct steering input (eg. more "feel" for the road, which i personally love)
*less suspension change (eg. camber change) when loaded into a corner because unlike a double wishbone suspension, the whole suspension turns on a McPherson strut style suspension
*camber adjustable using the tophats and no need for a front camber kit when lowering
*less travel in the suspension

But, with that, there are tradeoffs, which are:
*a stiffer ride
*way more noise due to there being no buffer between your suspension and chassis (eg. no rubber buffer like with stock upper mounts. the vibration goes straight to your chassis)
*since its a monoball and all metal, it will need to be replaced more often than a rubber tophat

In all honesty, unless your racing, you dont need it. personally, i like the extra road feeling of it but i could do without the stiffness and road noise as a DD.

^truth....i jus like the road feel and the lil bit stiffer ride. keeps my belly from drag most of the time, any little bit helps.

hmmm good info
what i was trying to get was ive read, with theese coilovers, u need to replace the metal bearing with the oem plastic one in order to fit, i read it in a thread about theese somewhere and also on the progress site that u need these bearings i guess. 15 bucks a piece for em. SOO apparently they're needed in order for the coilovers to fit, I just wanted to see if this was true.

alright so I got the coilovers in the mail today. all it came with was just the coilovers and nothing else. Is there anything else I need to do the install other than the key to change the hieght? A buddy of mine has a key so thats all set. Anything else I need to know before I install? Everything else is just the stock hardware correct?

you should be fine. how do you plan on tackling the install when u dont know anything about the coils you just bought? we can E-install these for you. i understand your a noob but they have DIY/FAQ for all this. help us out by reading those first and then we will be able to help you here alot better. you cant come to the table and "ask for dinner then be mad cuz theres no dessert". pretty much your bringing nuthing to the table. get a lil knowledge and it will be a much smoother process for us and yourself

fair enough, i have no animosity towards you, i don't want it to seem like that. its just the truth, the more you know the more we can help. good luck. i personally have the same coils on my car just the V.2 so lemme know if you run into any snags.
